We had the good fortune of connecting with Kisha Balderamos-O’Leary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kisha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think about risk as a frightening but essential part of the entrepreneurial process. I have always grown the most when I step out on to the unlit path but walk in faith anyway. Many people run from risk out of fear but I truly believe everything you want is on the other side of that fear. So, continue moving toward your goals until you smash them all. Then make new ones and smash those too!

What should our readers know about your business?
The inspiration for Paid To Bridesmaid actually came from my own “COVID” wedding in 2020 where I had to downsize my guest list from 110 to only 9 local guests. So when I say I understand the need to have someone solid and reliable in your corner on your big day, I truly understand what this means.

I am so honored to meet other vendors and realize how hard they are also working behind the scenes for the same common goal: a memorable wedding or event. It reminds me that while I started this company from personal experience, I have a duty to clients to support them in any capacity and make sure their needs are met whether they have a large event or a handful of family and friends.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a good friend come to visit the DFW area, we would definitely hit a few of the bbq places here like Hard Eight BBQ, Tender Smokehouse or Hutchins. The DFW area also has tons of historical places to visit like Dealey Plaza or Fort Worth Stockyards. It also has really cool small cities with their own vibe like Frisco or Addison with great restaurants and night life. Lastly, I love the driving proximity to neighboring states like Oklahoma or Louisiana for even more exploring and adventures.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shout-out to my team for all their support throughout this amazing endeavor. And to my husband, Travis for being in my corner always.
