We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis and BreAuna Burkhalter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Travis and BreAuna, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Through coaching, mentoring, and education through our podcast, our mission is to help people build R.E.A.L relationships. R is for raw. E is for edifying. A is for accountable. L is for long lasting. We strive to enrich and encourage healthy relationships and growth whether a romantic, familial, or friendship. In a world that prioritizes individualism, we want to encourage and nurture healthy relationships.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets us apart is our transparency. We believe every relationship is unique just like the individuals in it. Our goal is to help others explore the beauty in any type of relationship as well as embrace the aspects that need improvement. We want to make sure everyone feels heard, understood, and seen. We continue to learn ourselves about how our relationship continues to evolve daily and that makes us a better team to help others find their stride to have their successful relationship. Nothing that’s worth having is easy. It’s a cliche but its true. We wouldn’t be able to help others if we didn’t continue to work in our relationship. Life isn’t always easy, we’ve had our share of tough days and we never know what life will throw at us, but because of our foundation we’ve set with open communication whether good or bad as well as showing humility, empathy, and forgiveness we believe we can overcome anything. Our brand is R.E.A.L !

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s so much to do. We enjoy exploring new things and places anytime we have a chance to travel.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A book that helped us set a good foundation in our own personal relationship is Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. This book expanded our thoughts on the importance of respect and love in relationships and how its prioritized between men and women. It helped not only our relationship but helped shaped some of the conversations we have about relationships with others needing assistance in person and on our podcast. We would be remiss if we did not shoutout The Gate Church here in Oklahoma City. We had the opportunity to go through the premarital counseling process with Pastors Cole and Eva Phillips who really helped us prepare for the new chapter in our life as well through counseling and mentorship.
