We had the good fortune of connecting with Trai Mosley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trai, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In 2016, I was a college football player with aspirations of making it to the NFL. However, a tragic accident during practice led to a serious neck injury that required surgery and forced me to take a year off from all contact-related activities. During that time, I found myself navigating life as a regular student—uncertain, but still holding on to my creative roots as a graphic design major. One day, while scrolling through Facebook Marketplace, I came across a camera being sold for $150 by a teacher on campus. I decided to purchase it and began taking photos of my friends during their off-season training. To my surprise, the photos were well-received, and that was the moment I realized there was potential to turn this passion into a business. After my football career ended, the following year brought the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. I remember sitting in my room, staring out the window, wondering what to do with all the free time I suddenly had. It was in that quiet moment of reflection that it hit me—I needed to start building my business now. I saw the downtime as an opportunity to prepare, learn, and grow so that once the world opened back up, I could hit the ground running.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When asked what sets me apart, I believe it ultimately comes down to my ability to network and build genuine connections. I’ve always been the type to confidently introduce myself and make meaningful introductions—an approach that has opened many doors for me, both personally and professionally.

In fact, networking is exactly what led me to Dallas. A close friend and former college teammate, Jakari Dillard, reached out with an opportunity to coach at the middle school level. I immediately saw it as more than just a job—it was a chance to give back. I’m passionate about helping young athletes grow, not only in their sport but also in their mindset, preparing them for high school, college athletics, and life beyond the game.

It was also a strategic move that allowed me to have a stable salary while continuing to build my clientele and grow my business on the creative side. It gave me balance, structure, and the freedom to scale my brand with intention.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would honestly say I love the Legacy West area—it’s one of my favorite spots in the metroplex. But if we’re starting the day right, we’re definitely getting a workout in at Katy Trail first. From there, it’s all about balance—whether we’re exploring The Star at Cowboys HQ or heading over to Earl’s or Haywire for lunch, it’s always a vibe. And you can’t forget dessert—Amorino Gelato is a must. I’d wrap the day up with some friendly competition at Topgolf. It’s the perfect mix of energy, fun, and good food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to thank God for instilling in me the entrepreneurial spirit that has guided my journey. I’m also incredibly grateful to my mother—an entrepreneur herself—who taught me the value of perseverance, hard work, and finding solutions in the face of challenges. Her example shaped my mindset and continues to inspire me every day.

I’d also like to acknowledge two close friends, Tre Brown and Robert Rochell, both currently playing in the NFL, who gave me the opportunity to travel with them and create content during the off-season. Their support played a significant role in helping me grow my brand.

A special thank you to Artan Jabbar, a friend and fellow entrepreneur, who consistently booked me for projects in Dallas. His belief in my work not only helped build my portfolio but also played a major part in my decision to move to the city. His support was instrumental in helping me gain traction in the DFW area.

There are countless others who have supported me along the way, and I’m truly grateful for each and every one of them.
