Meet Tracy Robert: Fit Chick Cancer Thriver/Fitness, Nutrition & Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Robert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tracy, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Build a Brand. When I decided to return to being self-employed and start my fitness & nutrition company in 2016 there was so much advice thrown my way. It was also a different world then in 2002 when I had my own Personal Training company. So I rushed into developing a brand, a logo, creating content and learning ALL forms of social media from Facebook lives, Instagram’s perfect photos, professional posts on LinkedIn, creating a YouTube channel and eventually TikTok (my favorite). I was ALL over the place and I was also recovery from cancer and literally had NO IDEA what the hell I was doing. So I think went back to what I have always educated people on in the past. It was still valuable and useful but I was wrapped up in this “branding” that I was not being true to myself or those I wanted to help! My brain was screaming just get it out there! Building a brand around yourself seems like the logical thing to do. Unfortunately it caused me to pause a lot and be stagnant. I also felt I was not clear with who I really wanted to work with and my marketing message was complicated at times. Honestly, I was pulling from the old pre-cancer me and essentially it made me feel less than authentic. I had some growing to do, I had some healing of my own to do so I could shift my thinking towards helping others and bringing value to potential clients. I knew sharing my tough, honest journey would be a beautiful disaster internally but I was aware that digging deep to that type of vulnerability would create a clear vision and purpose that would inspire and make a difference in other people’s lives. The elements of my health & wellness post cancer, post menopause were messy and painful yet I feel more myself and more equipped to support my clients.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started a Coaching business in 2016 called Mosaic Fitness & Nutrition. I am the Fit Chick Cancer Thriver who was the “poster chick of health & fitness” yet I received the diagnosis of colorectal cancer in 2015. I learned you can do all “the right things” but still become sick. I have a permanent colostomy bag which was very difficult to accept. But it has been in sharing that part of my story and wrestling with my own thoughts and fears and insecurities that brings hope and helps other people feel that they are not alone. My tagline is “Changing the Mirror from the Inside Out” I am a believer that it is the inside work that produces the most fruit. In my experience with clients, it always goes deeper then building some muscles or losing weight or learning to eat healing foods, it is the inside traumas unhealed, the old negative tapes and the unmasking of the subconscious mind that reaches goals and true sustainable change. My logo, a butterfly. A butterfly only emerges through struggle. I am an empath, so I can appreciate the facets of the struggle to become all you can be in this precious life, especially as a woman over 40. I am Personal Trainer, Whole Food Nutrition Coach, Pilates Instructor, Life Coach & Cancer Thriver. Mosaic’s mission is to help you to change the mirror from the inside out and empower you to own your Healthstory! I value freedom, transformation, security, reliability, personal growth and collaboration. I want to see women THRIVE in their lives. We are so hard on ourselves and our desire to put relationships first can cause us to lose sight of who we are. My passion is to help women find their path to feel physically, emotionally and spiritually well. I teach women how to build a fit, strong body in their 40’s, through menopause and beyond! I support ladies in creating sustainable habits, and helping them get off the Standard American Diet (SAD), and improve their gut health through my One Size Fits One,Nutrition Glow Up coaching program I help women build strength & function & a positive mindset through my Core 2 Cut program! We begin with the “inside” stabilizing muscles & core and move to the “outside” aesthetic muscles! Being an entrepreneur is Rewarding but Challenging. There is so much uncertainty and at times failure yet I am most ALIVE when I see myself making a difference. When I empower a shift in a lady’s perspective and encourage them to transform their life by accepting and loving who they are TODAY. The educator (my degree is in teaching) in me enjoys providing ladies with tools to continue to deepen and develop their story which then creates a ripple effect in the lives of their families, friendships and their community. WE are most ALIVE, when we THRIVE and not just SURVIVE our lives!
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I am a really simple person and honestly value deep conversation, laughing and moving my body so I could be anywhere from Starbucks to Six Flags and be having the best time if the other person reciprocated those things! I love road trips, so probably a week exploring parts of the United States or finding a hidden scenic spot would be awesome. In Texas, where I live, I would go hiking at Enchanted Rock, grab a coffee at a Starbucks, hang out by the water maybe Lake Ray Roberts or pitch a tent on the beach in Corpus Christi. I am not a foodie…LOL (I have had gut issues for 25 years so that could be why) however, I love Juice bars, Whole Foods, anything that has a patio and a great salad and some live music! That way we get a little bit of everything. It is not about where I go as much as the company I am with and the connection we have to just talk and be.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a great question. There has been several people that have inspired me along the way the last 5 years. My incredible therapist, Margaret Ann Kellogg that taught me the Internal Family System and EFT (tapping) which kickstarted the journey back to myself. My client and photographer, David Quisenberry. He introduced me to some of the elements of marketing I was unfamiliar with and asked me the hard questions to help me figure out who Mosaic Fitness & Nutrition and the Fit Chick Cancer Thriver is. My life Coach, Joanne Marceau who continues to help me uncover and discover the truth of all I can be and become. Others like Tony Robbins, Gary Vee and Brene Brown have been crucial to inspire my heart. My doctors and therapists from P5 Performance, Dr. Joshua Ferrell who has me running and working out after several setbacks & obstacles. My online autoimmune specialist and gut health Dr. Daniel Pompa who has helped me heal from SIBO and given me health back through water fasting and the cellular healing diet. Finally my family who has supported this endeavor and encouraged me to press forward because they believe in what I am doing even on days when I am questioning things!
