Hi Toska, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Title: Transforming Logistics: The Story of 360 Freight Connect

The genesis of 360 Freight Connect is a tale woven from years of experience, a deep-seated passion for logistics, and a drive to innovate within the industry. With over twelve years of immersion in various roles, including as a former co-owner operator and Broker Agent, the seeds of entrepreneurship were sown.

In 2021, I took the plunge and established 360 Freight Connect, spurred by the need for a more streamlined approach to freight dispatching. Despite my extensive background, the initial phase was fraught with challenges. Questions regarding workflow processes and the daily realities of a freight dispatcher lingered, while the weight of multiple responsibilities burdened me as I navigated the early stages of the business.

In an effort to foster community and bridge knowledge gaps within the logistics sector, I launched the “360 Freight Connect Resources Center” on Facebook. Initially conceived as a platform to facilitate connections between logistics professionals and owner operators, it soon evolved beyond its original scope.

The turning point arrived when numerous individuals expressed a keen interest in learning the art of freight dispatching under the tutelage of 360 Freight Connect. Despite initial reservations about expanding amidst the rigors of managing a logistics firm, I recognized the profound impact I could make by empowering others within the industry.

Thus, 360 Freight Connect emerged—a testament to our commitment to nurturing aspiring dispatchers and industry enthusiasts alike. What began as a modest initiative has flourished into a vibrant community, with over 20 mentees and a growing roster of participants.

It’s a privilege to mentor aspiring professionals, leveraging insights gleaned from years of experience and witnessing their growth firsthand.

What I’m most proud of and excited about at 360 Freight Connect is the transformative impact we have on individuals’ lives within the logistics industry. Witnessing our mentees grow from novices to proficient Logistics Specialists is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that we’re empowering people from diverse backgrounds to succeed in a dynamic and lucrative field brings me immense joy. Moreover, I’m excited about the innovative approach we’re taking to education and mentorship, continuously adapting to meet the evolving needs of our participants. By providing flexible learning options and personalized support, we’re paving the way for countless individuals to achieve their goals and thrive in the logistics sector.

My journey to where I am today in the logistics industry has been a blend of challenges and triumphs, shaping me into the entrepreneur I am today. While it certainly wasn’t an easy path, each obstacle I encountered served as a valuable lesson that propelled my growth and development.

Owning and operating 360 Freight Systems, a Dispatch Firm, provided me with invaluable insights and experiences that laid the foundation for my entrepreneurial ventures. However, when I decided to expand my horizons and establish 360 Freight Connect, I faced a new set of challenges. Navigating the complexities of starting and scaling a business required a different skill set and mindset. From crafting a solid business plan to managing finances and marketing strategies, I encountered numerous hurdles along the way.

Despite the uncertainties and self-doubt that often accompany entrepreneurship, I remained resilient and determined. I sought guidance from mentors, invested in continuous education, and leaned on my network for support. By embracing challenges as opportunities for growth and remaining adaptable in the face of adversity, I overcame obstacles and steered 360 Freight Connect toward success.

Throughout this journey, I remained committed to my vision for 360 Freight Connect, focusing on delivering value to our clients and mentees. Crafting an unforgettable week-long itinerary for a visiting friend in the DFW TX area entails showcasing a diverse array of experiences while exploring different cities such as Dallas, Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Fort Worth. We’d kick off our adventure with a hearty breakfast at Ellen’s Southern Kitchen in Dallas, followed by a deep dive into the city’s rich cultural scene at the Dallas Arts District, with visits to institutions such as the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. For lunch, we’d savor authentic Texas barbecue at Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum, renowned for its mouthwatering offerings. The afternoon would be spent exploring eclectic boutiques and art galleries in Dallas. Later, we’d relish a unique dining experience at one of Arlington’s acclaimed restaurants, followed by a visit to the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame. In Grand Prairie, we’d explore the vibrant shopping and entertainment district of Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, followed by dinner at a local favorite spot. The week would conclude with a visit to the cultural attractions and historic landmarks of Fort Worth, including the Fort Worth Stockyards and the Kimbell Art Museum, with opportunities to dine at renowned restaurants offering southwestern cuisine. By incorporating these experiences across various cities, we’d ensure our visiting friend gains a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of the diverse offerings within the DFW TX area.

Their dedication, passion, and commitment to growth continually inspire me. Additionally, my mentor, Mr. Calvin Butler from the RBBS Logistics Learning Center, has been instrumental in shaping my career and mindset. His unwavering belief in me, even when I lacked confidence, has been invaluable.
