Hi Tonedef, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
It’s all about the people…..Mess with the people that mess with you. You have to always be cordial and open. People have to feel like they know you and with that they will buy from you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s all about the music for me! My background is music production so DJing is my way of producing music on the fly. You are never gonna hear songs mixed the way I do because I don’t pattern myself after anyone. But is not easy! For years i practiced every single day! I studied the craft and continued to expand..I learned to scratch! Then I learned how to play house! Just keep pushing the envelope and never settle for where you are

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m taking them to meet the people! All my spots where they are gonna be treated like royalty. Brunch with my friends at Pure Social, Brew City, or Menas. Day party at GVO, Sandaga or Ekko. House of Cigars is my favorite! Alley Music House and Stadium is always a vibe! Then People last stand on a Sunday of course the Hideaway

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are too many to name..DJs and business owners that gave me my 1st shots like DJ IE and Kevin Pup Smith! Mentors like Big Daddie the DJ and DJ Unpredictable…but most importantly the fans that always encourage me and come to my events
