We had the good fortune of connecting with Tijuana Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tijuana, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I love this question, risk to me is literally EVERYTHING. My entire life has been about risk taking, I’m a big dreamer! I’m a big dreamer with a lot of goals. You can’t dream big and desire the most out of life and not be willing to take risks to achieve them. I’ve always desired the finer things in life, abundance and most importantly freedom. I guess entrepreneurship is embedded in my soul, I’ve never been content with the 9-5, the minimum in life. It’s just never been apart of my thinking. Anyone that you ask about me will tell you once I have my mind made up, I put 1,000% of myself into this. Which comes with risks, if I didn’t take a risk I wouldn’t be a mother or wife. I wouldn’t have a YouTube channel (Mmm ASMR) with over 2 million views and over 25,000 Mmmies. I wouldn’t have a platform where I can inspire other’s who look like me to go after their dreams. I wouldn’t have fulfilment knowing that I’ve found my purpose in life.

To me there’s nothing worth having without taking risks.

Once you achieve your goals you set out to do, no matter how shy, scared you are of the unknown. You get a sense of wholeness that money, nor person can fill. It’s really beautiful. If something you want to do makes you scared DO IT!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well I’m an eating AMSRist on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. I know a lot of you are like you’re a what?! LOL… so let me explain. ASMR means Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response; is a tingling response that stems from the scalp and moves down the upper neck/spine. Many people say ASMR helps them with depression, anxiety, stress and even pain, so it’s healing in many ways. There’s different types of ASMR, what I do is eat on camera with my mic set to certain standards that anplify the eating sounds. So people enjoy the eating sounds whether it’s crunchy, chewy sounds and etc.

There’s a lot of creators that specialize in this art but something that sets me apart is how I look, my vibes and how I eat. I have Vitiligo on my face, arms and hands, so a lot of people are intrigued by this. Some people think I’m wearing makeup at first glance and click on my videos lol. The vibes that I give on my channel and pure positivity, I want you to leave relaxed and stressed free after watching my ASMR’s. As far as my eating goes lol, I eat how I want! 99% of my videos consist of seafood boils so It tends to get a little messy on my channel, I believe in being your authentic self and not leaving up to standards others have set. So while some may say I have bad table manners other LOVE the fact that I don’t care what anyone thinks. A heavy influence of this is Bloveslife, I’ve always looked up to her and love how she eats. I take really BIG bites of food and I have a strange way of eating corn. You just have to see it for yourself LOL.

I’m most proud of the fact that I wanted to try ASMR and I just did it, even though I was nervous. I started and I’m so happy I took a leap of faith, I’m excited to see how this channel evolves and most importantly I’m excited and proud of my Mmm Sauce that I created. My sauce will be for sale very soon, so be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out! It was most definitely not easy and at times I felt like I was putting in more than what I was receiving. I’m a mother of 4 children under the age of 11, I was a full time employee and a wife. A bad misconception that a lot of people have about Youtubers is that it’s easy work. The reality is that it’s very challenging, mentally and physically. A normal day of recording for me would be to get off, cook dinner, put my children to sleep, Prepare food for my video, record and edit until about 2 AM. How I overcame this challenging moment was by reminding myself of the visuals I have for my life, and the disciplines that created.

I’ve learned so many lessons and I’m grateful for each one, I know now why I had to endure them. One of the biggest lessons i had to learn really quick was to not compare myself to others. YouTube has a crazy algorithm and no one truly knows how it works. But if you’re not careful you’ll find yourself saying things like why isn’t my channel growing, why am I not good enough, this person’s growing so much faster than me, so they must be better. When in actually you have to be confident and believe everything happens at the Devine moment! Stay consistent, study your craft and most importantly believe in yourself. If you don’t believe your audience will pick up on that energy and they won’t believe either.

I would like people to know that I’m just a foodie that wants to share my love of food, family, positive vibes and encouragement one video at a time!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend’s actually coming to visit soon, so this is perfect! Most of the time I’m a kind of go with the flow type of person but the older I get I realize having somewhat of a plan just works better for me lol.

We would EAT, EAT, EAT and then EAT some MORE!

I’m such a foodie so a good time to me is good vibes, good music, beautiful warm weather with some delicious food w/ someone I love mainly my husband lol! Yessssss!!!

I just love to be around good people, good vibes and good food, I’m pretty open to trying new things. It’s like an adventure for me, I love great conversation with new people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m all about giving shout outs, to me it’s a way to show gratitude to those who have helped you along the way. The first person I would definitely have to shoutout is myself. I know that may seem selfish but let me explain lol. I want to give myself a shoutout because I’ve been through so much, I’ve been told I was dumb and made to feel like I wasn’t enough. My mom and I have been homeless, I had so many things happen to me that could’ve been excuses… but I’ve always persevered for that I’m proud and I thank you Tijuana.

I also would like to give a huge shoutout to my mother, for always letting me talk her ears off about my dreams, ideas and etc. I thank her for never putting doubt in my head. I also would like to shoutout my father, he has always shown me that no one owns you anything and if you want something you have to go out there and get it.

Huge shoutout goes to my husband and my children, they motivate beyond words can express. To my beautiful children thank you for your many sacrifices, mommy owes you the world! Thank you to my husband for showing interest in things that interested me, helping me with anything I needed to get started… It never goes unnoticed.

All these people have added so much value to my journey and I’m forever grateful.
