We had the good fortune of connecting with Thania Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thania, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is ” Everything happens for a reason”. I personally identify myself with this quote because things happen when you don’t expect them. When you don’t plan them and most of the time it’s for good. Sometimes we have plans, goals in our life that we would like to achieve but God has something else planned for us. I like this quote because it gives me motivation and it makes me think that if something happens in that moment its because it has been meant for us.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Before owning a business, I used to work for a shoe store and a clothing store at the mall, then I wanted to have a profession and decided to go to dental school to become a dental assistant. I really wanted to be an ESL teacher before. I moved to Dallas at the age of 16 and I enjoyed learning a new language so I wanted to share my experience with others and show them that we can definitely learn a second language. But due to my age I felt I was a little behind and old to go to school to be a teacher so I decided to go to dental school and become a dental assistant since the program was shorter. After a few months I started working at a dental office where I felt so unappreciated so I left and went back to retail. I worked at the same clothing store for a few months then I found an office that was offering good pay so I decided to give it a try. The first months were smooth, then staff and Dr. started acting different my pay was great! But the environment was not!! I decided to stay for a few years but those years where full of sadness, depression and anxiety. The environment was toxic and I felt that my effort was never appreciated. They used to made me feel that I was not a good assistant. One day I was on instagram and I saw this post where people where offering Teeth Whitening Training, and I was like should I try it ? What if it doesn’t work out? What if I waste my money? How am I going to start a business? We always have those negative thoughts that doesn’t let us move forward but I was like OK I’m going to give it a try! If it works great! If not oh well money comes and goes… A week after I started to see clients, I started renting a small suite, it was tough at the begging because people don’t know our work, don’t know me personally, don’t know about the service. I’m so blessed to have lovely clients and amazing followers who support me every day and share my page, share my work and that means the world for me! Some days I do think in quitting because some things don’t work out the way I would like to. But then I think how hard I been working for this, I think about those people who love my work. I have a place in mind that I would like to own in the future and that is my every day motivation. Dreams come true, sometimes they take a little bit of time we just have to be patience and work hard for our dreams. I have learned that no matter how hard is this journey never give up. Keep working, there is always people who will support you and love your work!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a very friendly person that is hard to choose one as a best friend, but I love spending time with all my girls. If they were on my area on Monday we are going straight to Starbucks and get a drink, talk about life. Tuesday TacoTuesday we love Tacos from La Ventana then get some margaritas at Maracas and take some nice pictures in Deep Ellum. Wednesday we can go bowling, and do some shopping. Thursday aquarium or zoo day! Friyay movie day at Cinépolis. Saturday spa day, nails done and going to Uptown dance and have some drinks. Sunday Funday we can go get some junk food! Maybe some mangonadas, a corn, ice cream, snacks and going out to dinner.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am blessed to have people who have been very supportive during this journey. I would like to start with my family, my brother, my fiancé, my close friends, my loyal clients and my social media friends that even if we don’t know each other personally they been there showing some love towards my small business.
