We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Waters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I spent several years working in corporate events and marketing before a friend asked me to coordinate their wedding. I absolutely loved it and soon found myself planning more weddings for friends! That’s when I had my ‘lightbulb moment’—people actually get paid to do this (who knew? LOL)! In 2020, I decided to start charging for my services (though probably not enough at the time), and by 2022, I took the leap and officially formed my LLC. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m so grateful for all the experience along the way!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
En Pointe Events is a full-service event planning company based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, committed to making sure your event is on point from start to finish. Led by Taylor Waters and supported by a talented team of assistant planners, we specialize in crafting seamless and unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s full-service planning, month-of or day-of coordination, or designing your dream event, we’ve got every detail covered. We also offer custom timelines, content creation, and a wide range of event and party services. At En Pointe Events, we ensure every aspect of your event is perfectly executed, so you can focus on enjoying the moment!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My go-to spots for great food are Sueno for amazing cocktails, OMG Tacos for a fun taco fix, Toastique for a fresh and healthy bite, Mariano’s Hacienda for classic Tex-Mex, North Italia for delicious pasta, and LaLaLand for the best coffee and vibes! As for activities, I love dancing the night away at Red River, finding my flow at Samatone’s hot yoga classes, and spending sunny lake days out at Lake Lavon. It’s the perfect mix of fun, fitness, and relaxation!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a huge shoutout to my parents. Their guidance and support have been invaluable to me as I’ve navigated the world of entrepreneurship. Honestly, it’s in my blood—both of my parents are entrepreneurs, and they’ve shown me what it means to work hard, stay resilient, and believe in myself. From a young age, they encouraged me to pursue my passions, and that foundation of love and mentorship has been the driving force behind my journey. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them!
