We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It honestly seemed like the only thing I could do at the time to get to where I needed to be as a singer-songwriter and creative entrepreneur. Thank God I have the love and support of my family. I wouldn’t even know where to begin if it wasn’t for my mentor at Songpreneurs, Amanda Colleen Williams aka my rock ‘n roll mama. She and the team taught me everything I know about building a strong and sustainable music business career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
First and foremost the good Lord is the most important factor behind any success for my artistry or brand. Also my family and friends are a big important part for all the love and support they give me, and my professional mentor at Songpreneurs LLC is my second family.

I honestly believe that music is magic and that’s what I do. I play to entertain people, and to hopefully move them in some way.

In the music business everything is risky, because you never know what’s going to happen. You have to take risks to be successful with anything, I think.

When I have faced challenges, giving up has never been an option. In our house, our parents made sure that if we were thinking about starting something, we knew we had to finish it. That honestly went for anything.

Right now I’m most excited about putting out my debut album and lead single called “Never Rains In Texas” to Texas Red Dirt Radio, and also about getting to perform the songs from my Texas Country Christmas album, “The Tree.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first thing would definitely be a visit to the Fort Worth Stockyards. We’d stop by the White Elephant to watch some live music, then swing by PR’s for a beer. After the Stockyard fix, we’d make our way down 30 to Cowboys Red River and end the night dancing to the greatest house band in Dallas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank God for my family and mentors at Songpreneurs LLC.
