We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Davidson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue a career as an artist in the music industry because it has been my dream since I was a kid. Songwriting, singing, and performing have always been huge passions, and I could not imagine doing anything else. Even though it’s a tough industry, I’m a firm believer that you can do anything you set your mind to. If you have a dream or a passion, you should pursue it regardless of other people’s opinions; only you can determine your potential. Music is my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music is a blend of country-pop and indie, but I mostly like to tell stories in my songs. Songwriting is a huge part of who I am as an artist and a person, and it helps me get through the ups and downs in my life and is my creative outlet. I started writing songs around the age of 10, and then a couple of years later, when I was 12, I started wanting to perform at local venues locally. I was determined to share my songs with the world, so I made little flyers to pass out to local restaurants. It was hard getting gigs at first because I was so young, but that’s how I got started. Ever since then, I have been playing shows and writing music. In my freshman year of high school, I started exploring the world of production and figuring out my sound as an artist. I released my first two singles my sophomore year and used what I learned from that experience to improve the new music I was making. I spent my junior and senior year creating my four-song ep “Tragedy” and recently released it in December 2021. The ep project was a big part of my journey as an artist because I learned so much about myself and the process of releasing music. I was working with a fantastic producer for Tragedy and watching my vision for the songs come to life in the ep, and my first music video was a dream come true. My journey defiantly had its ups and downs, but I am proud of what I have accomplished, and I’m excited for what the future holds.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my parents; they have been my biggest cheerleaders and support system. My mom is the best momager ever, and my Dad has always been a huge musical influence for me. My Dad helped teach me how to play guitar and introduced me to all different music growing up. Both of my parents have come to every show and have always encouraged and supported me. I’m fortunate that I have parents who support my dreams and goals, and I defiantly wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
