We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasha Jay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tasha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I first started my music career/business I didn’t know what to do or where to start. However my thought process first and foremost was to learn then apply. I got with a lot of my friends within the business and researched healthy practices and tools to utilize for success. Once I started learning the ins and outs my thought process from there was push. By push I mean to push forward and don’t look back.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art and what “sets me apart” would be that I have the freedom to create whatever I want. So many variations to play with when it comes to music and I love it. I got where I am today by dedication, responsibility and pushing forward no matter what. It was not easy at all, but each challenge I looked at as a opportunity and a steppIng stone to the next level. With that I’ve learned to be humble, not to procrastinate and to always push forward. What I want the world to know about my story is that its a true testimony. That I didn’t get here overnight and I am no where near where I want to be, but God has seen me through.. He’s seen me through the good bad and ugly, and I am nothing without him!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely would have to catch some crab legs at Red Claw and also hit Yoshi Shabu Shabu. For drinks I have a long list of places, but Glorias or Viddora! When I have company visit I like to pretend I’m a tourist as well. So I like to do things like go to museums, go to places with scenery and eat food! So I would also maybe take them to the reunion tower, Dallas Arboretum and maybe even then aquarium! Night life is also pretty fun, so I would definitely have to stop by a hookah lounge or two and invite along some friends 🙂
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wanna shoutout my best-friends/sisters because they have been along the ride with me. They always support me and motivate me! I also would have to shoutout my family for keeping my head level and positive. Then I have a few mentors I want to shout out, Luis Vasquez and Nelda. And last but not least my producer Roman Pino!
