We had the good fortune of connecting with T La’Toyia Warren and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi T La’Toyia, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my business/career has taught me is that success is not awared overnight and if you are not ready to be consistent when times are tough then entrepreneurship is not for them. I have had to learn the true definition of fortiude and adapt to the idea that a business is not ran alone. The people around me who love and support me are just as important to the growth of the business as the revue the business produces.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Lux’Zurious Events & Consulting is a service driven business. We saw a need to assist small businesses with the legal aspects, such as reading and analyzing contracts and contract creation. Having a business is more than posting and advertising on social media. We ensure they have a solid foundation from the start.
In addition to consulting, we are Certified Professional Event Management facilitators. Our most recent project is: We’re Showing The World What We Are Made Of Showcase will feature kids and teens fashion and talent Showcase in Dallas, TX on January 29th. This Showcase is unique because we are not only using youth models but we will also feature youth designers, performances, speakers and entrepreneurs. We are very excited about this venture and believe that Texas will benefit from this Showcase tremendously. When we pour into children and families, everyone wins.
I got to this place professionally because I was tired of listening to entrepreneurs struggle to navigate the business law side of ownership. I also wanted to dedicate myself to the growth and enrichment of children and families.
Since conducting business as Lux’Zurious Events & Consulting, I have been able to do both and forge a path my own children have been able to benefit from.
What sets me apart is my pure love for people and to assist with the intentions of wanting to see others be successful.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
During the day, we would have to stop at the Ross Perot Museum. I am a Science and Technology fan and that Museum has something for everyone. Not to mention the great Cafe inside which is where we would take a break for lunch.
Next stop is Reunion Tower. Why not enjoy a breathtaking view of Dallas from 400 feet up with a 360° perspective. And then dine at the Cloud 9 for delicious brunch or dinner.
I enjoy modeling and taking pictures and Rainbow Vomit has all the backgrounds I could ever ask for.
But wait a minute! We have the largest haunted house right in Fort Worth that is open year around. So definitely taking a stop at The Cutting Edge Haunted House.
Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington is not just for kids and I am a roller coaster super fan.
Football, basketball or Baseball. Take your pick because American Airlines Stadium, Globe Life Field and AT&T Stadium are at the top of the list.
And if my friend is not too tired we can wind down with a nice picnic at the Water Gardens in Fort Worth. Or a nice dinner and movie at Alamo Drafthouse.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I must credit my business partner and husband, Sugar Ray Warren. Without his knowledge, expertise and support, I would not be the powerhouse I am today. My husband has supported and encouraged me from the beginning of my ventures and provided the insight I have needed throughout the years to make wise business decisions.
Secondly, the Curvy Queenz of Dallas under the direction of Gladys McClendon, has provided me the space to be myself and glean tools that have provided me the confidence to chase my dreams.
Douglas Elliott, the owner of Next Level Internet Radio Station and the producer of my podcast, Let’s Talk Podcast with T La’Toyia and Sina and the Queenz of Conversation. Doug as we call him, gave me a chance to be a podcast host and I am forever grateful.
Lastly, J&M Productions with Alshiminia Washington (Creative Beauty By Mimi) and John Preston (Spot On Photography) collaborated with me and believed in a vision that was bigger than all of us but definetly not impossible. And with their help and support, We’re Showing The World What We Are Made Of Kids & Teens Showcase is coming to light.
