We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Blair and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, how do you think about risk?
After working as a teacher for ten years, I decided to take the leap of faith and pursue organizing full-time. I had some incredibly loyal clients and the belief that I would just make it work. I’ll never forget the moment I resigned and the subsequent phone call to my disbelieving husband. It was a tad impulsive, but I do not regret the decision for even one second. I believe that there are times in life when you just need to jump and do what you feel called to do. I feel blessed to call this my full-time job and am thankful that I listened to the call to do it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a former teacher and have a heart for helping others. This is the basis of all that I do and strive for within my business. Above all, I am there to help. My business model has transitioned from being strictly a Professional Organizer to helping clients be more productive. Yes, organization has about 90% to do with this, but it is also about understanding the family and sharing the common goal to become more efficient and thus happier. I pride myself on being an organizer who can accommodate everyone. I love to create Pinterest-worthy spaces, but I also love to do something I call realistic organizing. I am truly there to help in any and every way. I not only want you to love how your space looks; I want it to make sense for your family.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In March of this year, right before the world turned upside down, we relocated from Plano to Rockwall. It was the best decision we’ve made as a family. We love it here. The downtown is cute and vibrant. The lake views are gorgeous and the people are wonderful. We love to take visitors to the Harbor for a drink and dinner on a patio. There are so many great spots and we still have more exploring to do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many to thank for my success. I need to begin by thanking my husband. He has always been my biggest cheerleader and motivator to think bigger. He spends countless hours supporting me and pushing me to be better. I would not be where I am without his love, support, and efforts. I started Simplify with Steph in 2015 and ran it part-time until 2019. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am without the constant support of my first few clients (which were inevitably friends and family). They boosted my confidence and helped me see that my innate sense of organization was something I could share with others. Without them by my side, encouraging me and paying for me to help them, this would never have become a reality.
