We had the good fortune of connecting with Sopha Rush and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sopha, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my relationship with God. He is the foundation on everything I stand for. He’s been my rock through everything I’ve accomplished in life and want to give him the credit He deserves. Another factor has been my family. My husband has been my biggest supporter since day one and I couldn’t imagine doing this without him. He’s encouraged me, been by my side through all the ups and down when it comes to business & my brand.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I started my blog, I had no idea it would turn out to be more than that. I really just wanted to inspire people with my words and share how God was using me. I didn’t expect for it to birth my brand, Live Deeply Rooted. At times I had moments where I felt like I was writing and no one was reading, yet somehow I just continued to write and share what I was walking through in that season. It was hard at times not wanting to give up but I just kept going and people started to read and follow along on my journey. To this day, it still makes my heart smile when I get a message from someone telling me how I’ve helped them grow closer to God. The one thing I’ve been most proud of is the relationships I’ve built through my business. It has brought other likeminded individuals into my life so I don’t have to journey alone. The lessons I’ve learned along the way, is find the right people who want to see you become the best version of yourself. Also staying true to who you are created to be. It can become so easy to look and compare, but what I always remind myself is that what’s for me will be just that. God already has my blessings named just for me. What do I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am just the vessel for God to use. I pray my platforms is a reflection of His heart and it shines through.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hmmmmm..So definitely hitting up my favorite coffee shops Hola, Xaman & Davis Street Coffee. Not only are they so cute and have the perfect vibes, I love how intimate they are. They also all have really yummy food and drinks. I’m a sucker for all things Asian foods. I love me some hole in the wall spots that people look pass because it doesn’t fit their aesthetic. Nahlin Market is my go to Lao/Thai restaurant. The other two that are in my top 3 would be Bangkok City and Ly Market. I am hitting up all these spots. For more eating lol I would definitely add Paradiso, Written by the Seasons, and Tribal Cafe to the list. I love hanging out at coffee shops, libraries and checking out the mall for some shopping. Maybe add the Alamo for a movie date.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my amazing village for always praying for me and affirming me when I began to doubt myself. They have supported me through it all. They have held me accountable and encouraged me with my dreams and pushed me out of my comfort zone. One specific book that has really helped me thrive in my business has been Atomic Habits. It’s taught me the importance of becoming more disciplined. Creating small habits that create life changing goals. I also would love to shout-out my amazing team at Kensington Grey agency. They have really taken my business to the next level. They believed in me and saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself. They have become family to me & I’m just so thankful to have so many people pouring into me always.
