We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheldon Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheldon, what do you attribute your success to?
When I first starting off in my coaching career back in North Las Vegas At Cheyenne high school, nobody Believed in me besides my coach at the time coach fair, coach fufu, and coach Tobby. I really sat back truly learned the game of basketball from a coaches eye. They taught me to demand the room but always give respect and give knowledge and always be open to gain knowledge as a coach. So when I came to Dallas I always moved to my own beat and never gave up.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would say my coaching journey is very unique in way because I started off coaching track at the Andre aggasi boys n girls, then I took a teen director position at sliver Mesa recreation center in north Las Vegas. I started training some of the varsity players for Cheyenne and they pressured the head coach to let me get on the staff and I began my coaching career. I stayed at Cheyenne high school for 4 years and 4 season on the Nike circuit aau circuit, but I wanted to take my coaching career more seriously so I packed up my duffel bag and Nike back pack and bought a way ticket to Dallas and let my name be known in the DFW I’m here to stay !! I know the game of basketball and I’ll make you a better player on the court and better person off the court I produce wolves!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to down town Fort Worth and go 7th street and to the various restaurants and sites in the area. When I first I moved to Dallas my UAAM brothers took me to downtown forth Worth and I had the time of my life down there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
