We had the good fortune of connecting with sheenal singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi sheenal, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was opportunity and passion. I grew up being obsessed with makeup and fashion. It was the one thing that kept me hopeful throughout my childhood up until I finally started my journey. Its not just about makeup, it’s also about using makeup as a form of expression. I loved having the freedom to enhance my natural features in such a simple way and simultaneously getting a confidence boost. So naturally, having that opportunity to make someone else feel that way on their special day came quite easily to me. Its been a passion of mine for a long time and i was ecstatic to be able to bring that skill to my clients.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my commitment to continuous learning and growth in my craft. Im dedicated to staying with current trends, techniques, and products. I am always looking for the next workshop, advanced training courses, or pursuing to expand my skill set and knowledge base. I believe you can always learn something new, no matter where you are in your journey.

Being a makeup artist is my dream job, and everyday i am grateful to have found my passion and turning my passion into my career. Its not something that everyone can say, and i’m proud to be able to say that i love my job. I am excited to see what opportunities are to come as a MUAH.

Becoming a professional artist is not as easy as it may seem, especially on social media. It may look like all i do is makeup and hair, but i also create content, research products and trends, networking, collaborating, marketing, client communication, continuing training, personal development and i could go on. It didn’t come easy to me in the beginning, and i still struggle at times, but i push through. The look on my clients and brides face is worth it in the end. It’s hard work, and i love every minute of it.

I think the biggest lesson i’ve learned along the way is that self-care is vital. Its so easy to lose yourself in such a fast paced industry. The demanding nature of makeup artistry can take a toll on your physical and mental well-being. Anyone in the industry learns the importance of self-care practices, such as proper rest, nutrition, exercise, and stress management, to maintain balance and longevity in their careers. I didn’t know what back pain really was until i started my career. Taking care of myself is my number one priority.

I want the world to know that I always provide authenticity and transparency. I believe in the transformative power of makeup to boost confidence, uplift spirits, and celebrate individuality. I am committed to using high-quality products and techniques to achieve flawless results. My craft drives me to create stunning looks that makes my clients feel confident and beautiful. I take my time to understand each clients unique style, preferences, and features. I strive to ensure that clients leave happy!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s see, i think the first place we’d go to is a high tea place. We love getting dolled up and feeling a little fancy from time to time. One of my favorites in Dallas is Potpourri Boulangerie, food is amazing, service is great, and the decor is stunning! For a little day drinking we’d end up at Chet’s. For a casual dinner we love Joey Dallas! The Dallas Arboretum is a great place to check out and have a cute picnic. Definitely enjoyed ourselves there. I’d also like to add the Dallas World Aquarium, its beautiful and we loved the flamingos. We enjoy going to music and food festivals, and love that theres always some kind of event coming up. All around, theres always something to do in Dallas and i love that!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my best friend Princess. She’s always been so supportive of everything i’ve ever wanted or thought of doing. Se’s always there, cheering me on every step of the way. She’s the one that pushed me into going to beauty school to get my esthetician license. Somewhere on that route, i found my way to what i really loved doing the most, making others feel and look beautiful. Having someone that supports you no matter what was a huge deal for me. I’d say its pushed me out of my comfort zone and into something i’ve aways dreamt of. So thank you Princess 🙂
