We had the good fortune of connecting with Shea Ramon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was, I knew I’d be able to give my children what I didn’t have growing up.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I literally started with nothing, I knew that I had to make something out of nothing and it’s the exact same thing we do as a bakers or decorators you start from nothing and in the end of that process, your imagination has come to life. This has not been an easy road, ive faced many challenges, but did not let it stop me from becoming a better version of myself. I have learned that in order to be better, you have to keep going, keep learning, keep messing up and continue the process.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of the places I love to hang out, would be in the Pride area of town. We’d start out bar hopping on Cedar Springs, then grab a bite to eat somewhere downtown on a rooftop overlooking my city. We probably do some site seeing from the Reunion Tower. When the night comes, we’d go back to Cedar Springs, enjoy a few shows and walk the Pride strip.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this to my children, they are my inspiration. Whether it’s helping me or cheering me on, they deserve the very best!
