We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Jamail and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shannon, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I truly live by the adage that life is short, and we won’t regret the risks we took, but the ones we didn’t. I am a multiple business entrepreneur and I love it! From starting multiple new companies, to investing every penny I have, to moving across the country to make it happen- I don’t allow fear to be the deciding factor in business decisions. I operate purely on excitement, a desire to serve others and my determination to make it happen. This doesn’t mean I haven’t had obstacles or challenges along the way- quite the contrary. I have even been on the brink of bankruptcy a couple of times. But I don’t have regrets. And it feels good to go after my dreams, no matter the obstacles or fear. Having a good support team, and ignoring the criticism, is key in this approach. And be willing to fail (learn/grow) and get up again after. Success isn’t overnight, it comes from taking risks in the face of fear, learn from the mistakes and to keep going.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my primary company, Mind & Body Complete, almost a decade ago. Starting with wellness retreats, then coaching then intentional product development. My retreats are held all around the globe and are designed to elevate in mind & body- as are my intentional product line of candles and body products, Activated Faith. In addition, this year we opened our retreat center located on 46 acres in Marble Falls Texas, Retreat Ranch.

I am proud of every part of my business- but the most exciting is the fact that women connect with other women from all around the globe creating a community of support and connection through all seasons of life. This has been so inspiring and uplifting to me, and the community of women who have been part of any of our programs.

There have certainly been ups and downs in building this business, but most of that is centered around my inner mindset, not so much any outside factor. When I am focused, blocking out the noise – everything about my business is easy (even if it is being challenged, I am ready for it). But the few times I have allowed doubt or fear to enter my thoughts, when I allow the noise of defeat and victimization to infiltrate my mind, things are certainly much much harder. Mindset and perspective work is the most important work a business owner can do. It is more impactful than ‘overcoming obstacles’ or ‘the competition’ or any other barrier – WE can be our biggest obstacle, or our biggest key to success.

My goal in my company is that when a woman participates in any aspect of my business (a retreat, coaching, a product, an experience on the ranch) that she is elevated in mind & body.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love our little town of Marble Falls Texas! There are so many cool things to do here! I would start with a coffee at Numinous Coffee, then head to Lake Marble Falls for a little kayaking on the beautiful lake here, then head to do some shopping downtown and end at either a brewery, winery or distillery (there are several that are so incredible).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big thank you goes to my husband and children who have been my cheerleader every step of the way. No matter the crazy I dream up, they are always there to support and believe in me.
