We had the good fortune of connecting with Shamaaka Augustine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shamaaka, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
On The Go Mobile Phlebotomy helps the community by providing them with the best in-home lab service. We help make our patients lives a little bit easier. Whether their schedule is full, the patient is bed bound, has a needle phobia, or the patient just prefers to have their blood drawn in the convenience of their home or at work we’re able to provide that service to them.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At On The Go Mobile Phlebotomy our services includes Blood test, Drug screening, Specialty kits, Wellness exams, Early Gender Testing, Confidential STD testing, Clinical trial blood draws, Therapeutic Phlebotomy, DNA Testing and Courier Services. I would say what sets us a part from other phlebotomy companies would be our integrity and work ethic. I’m truly proud of the things to come these last 2 years have been awesome so we’re waiting to see what else God has for us. I worked really hard to get where I am today from past business failures to just learning, growing, and not giving up. I’ve learn when you fail at something don”t give up use it as a lesson and keep going, when you quit that’s when you’ve truly have failed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to them to Breakfast Brothers in Arlington for Breakfast they have the best chicken and waffles, for lunch I’d say the Vegan Food House in Dallas they have the best oyster tacos, and I would finish it off at BFF Asian Grill in Arlington there food is amazing and for the drinks lets not forget about the drinks lol I would have to recommend Sky Blossom Rooftop there frozen margarita trio is the bomb!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say my mom. Because of her I went to Phlebotomy school and got my first low paying phlebotomy job at $7.95 she insisted and I resisted but I gave in and did both. I’m super grateful I did, it’s because of her I found my calling in life and I get to provide my wonderful services to my patients everyday and that makes my heart full.
