Meet Shalisa Smith | Owner and Operator of Exquisite Tax Service

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shalisa Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shalisa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to give my clients the opportunity to be educated and comprehending taxes and being comfortable discussing very secure information rather than scared when taxes are involved. My goal is to always give my clients what they NEED and deserve. My customer service is my number one goal as I look forward to building a positive relationship with them to be a returning client as well as to bring friends and family along with them. I wanted to break the barrier of being mistreated and cheating during the tax experience.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own and operate Exquisite Tax Service, I have been operating my business for a few years now but I have over 10 years of experience in the field from my Business Managment degree. I started in Tennessee, and then relocated to Texas where my home office is. I have several agents in the DFW area as well in several states. So we serve clients worldwide. I am most proud of the goals I set for myself and my company. I never imagined having a surplus of agents, and never imagined setting goals to see 6 figures from working for myself. I stay persistent and true to myself even when others didn’t believe in me or my company. I pathed the way for myself and my family to be the best we can be for each other. Was it easy, HECK NO!!, but all the adversity made it worth it because every completed tax return my clients are happy and filled with joy. I overcame them by simply not giving up. I’ve learned you cant make everyone happy. You will have difficult clients and giving them a sense of peace and understanding is what difusses the conflict. Once you try Exquisite Tax Service you will never want to go anywhere else. We make you feel at home when you are in our hands. We aim to exceed your expections exquisitely.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im a busy body so the schedule will be FULLY loaded.. ask my friends. On a week long trip buckle up because you are bound to take a ride. So I love to cook so my friends get treated to breakfast in bed, then we get the day started. So during the week we may hit a brunch spot up or a happy hour. It’s 5pm somewhere no matter the time of the day. We may do a fun event- sip and paint, pole dance class, quick workout, patio views and vibes, a kickback mixer. For the evening and night life I love a good live band which Vinettis is one of my favorite places to lay my hair down, a nice elegant restauraunt with dim lighting to swirl my glass of wine in. I also like hookah lounge vibes with the latest R&B playing in the background while laughing til my stomach hurts and catching vibes. I love patio views no matter the day or time. We would defienly fit a massage, V steam (Serenity V Steam), Spa Castle, any kind of pampering session in the mix because of course any hard working woman deserves to pampered on a regular

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would first like to give all glory to God, because without him I would be nothing. I would like to give a shoutout to my family who has supported me throughout my business adventures. I would also like to thank all my clients. I wouldn’t have a business if it were not for them returning each and every year. I love each and every one of you.
