We had the good fortune of connecting with Sha’Kreshia Terrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sha’Kreshia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I desire freedom to live life without limits. To work from anywhere, vacation anywhere, anytime I want. I want to be able to watch my daughter grow up and give her experiences that I never had as a child without having to spend so much time at a 9-5.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m the CEO of Humble Hustle Finance. We educate emerging adults on the importance of money management. I teach personal finance based upon my life experiences. I will be 30 this year and had I known what I know now, I would’ve budgeted better, invested more, etc. I want to be able to guide young adults right into financial freedom. My journey has been hard. I’ve struggled, stressed, and cried a lot along the way but here I am debit free and with a credit score over 800. I am slowly learning about investing so that I may be able to incorporate that as well. My proudest moments are when I have random people come to me telling me that they’ve started a savings or their credit scores have increased based upon me helping them. I love to hear other peoples accomplishments! That honestly fuels me to do more. I’ve learned that not all debt is good debt. Credit scores are repairable. You have the power to change your own life!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The personal finance in me would have my best friend and I planning and budgeting months in advance so that we don’t have to be on a tight budget. (Lol!) We like nice things but on a budget! That’s key. We would definitely stay at some of the top hotels and eat and some of the best restaurants. Add in a little shopping and brunching with other like mind individuals and we will have a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big shoutout to my parents for being so transparent with me as a kid about our finances. Definitely taught me about money struggles and life in general. Shoutout to anyone in my life who has ever taken the time to talk finances with me. That’s one of the hardest topics to talk about so I appreciate anyone who has ever opened up to me about their finances. Also to my mentor Andrel Harris. She took me under her wing and guided through writing my first ebook and even creating Humble Hustle Finance. I’m forever grateful!
