We had the good fortune of connecting with Seema Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Seema, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My lifelong relationships with every single client or person that I encounter inside and outside my jewelry boutique.

What should our readers know about your business?
It took a lot of persistence and grit to get the doors open on my own store front. After 16 years in the industry I listened to what my clients told me time after time “you should have your own place” and here we are! Seema & Co. Is my proudest accomplishment and having done it without any handouts or business loans and i’m incredibly proud. There were certainly challenges along the way as with opening any new business, you face things you couldn’t have even predicted but you just have to put on your lipstick and conquer the day. I get to be apart of people’s best days and create family heirlooms and there is nothing more magical than that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
With so many fabulous places around its so hard to narrow it down, but i’d say some MUST check out places are certainly… Legacy west for a shopping spree to spoil yourself. Definitely North Italia and you have to get the truffle bread, and of course Del Friscos for drinks and dinner! The Dallas museum of art is a classic too, can’t go wrong.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s few woman in this industry that not only make it, but make it big and seeing woman like Bebe Bakhshi and Stephanie Gottlieb thrive in the jewelry industry (via social media) has really inspired me! I partially took the plunge due to their success.
