Meet Ryan Taylor | Modern, New Age, Traditional Drummer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After having been exposed to the Drum in the indigenous world and witnessing first hand how it is used to gather the people, folks from all walks of life. Differences are put aside, people find their strengths in unity and the Drum pulls us all together. My goal was to create a way for people to unify through music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It’s never an easy route to travel when turning your vision into a reality. I’ve been into this scene for 25 years, have traveled the world and met tons of folks. The method of drumming I teach is different than most. I share with groups how the Drum will pull out ones superpower and help them remember their purpose in life, through the use of very ancient rhythms.. I’ve always kept pushing through to get this message out to everyone who could use it. The world needs to awaken and remember, this is what the Drum does and I’m out here sharing this message.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas is full of various things to see and do. Everything from cowboys and rodeos to Beverly Hills style dining and nightlife. It’s Hollywood meets New York City with boots! I love our variety of food here. A few of my favorite places are Uptown, West Village, Bishop Arts, Downtown, McKinney Ave, Trinity Groves. The list is endless.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give a shout out to all the Master Drummers I’ve sat with and learned from over the last thirty years. So many to name but a few of them would be; Frisner Augustine, Petersen LaSeau, Kessler Pierre, just to name a few.
