We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Geisler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I think a lot of people through Covid saw the increased time with family and a lot more value now is spent on growing family relationships. I experienced a lot of the same things during Covid but in reverse. I had an extraordinary amount of time spent working and unfortunately that time took me away from home. Now I make a much greater emphasis on spending time with my wife and have had to be intentional on creating that time in my schedule. It is so easy to get in work mode, even when work from home and it can take away from the most important things in life.

What should our readers know about your business?
Thank You Media came out of my love for photography and videography. As a young child I was involved in the technology of church services, helping run Powerpoint and audio for different events. Through high school that love grew and I joined a Television production class where I honed in on those skills. I went to the University of North Texas for Radio, Television and Film where I took part in a number of films and met some great people. As I was finishing my degree I joined a friend I had met at UNT and we worked on a number of photography and videography projects.

In the summer of 2016 I decided to start a business myself. At the time it was just a side company to make additional income but now I run Thank You Media full time catering to clients needing photography, videography, graphic design and recently web design.

Owning Thank You Media has been so much fun and I enjoy creating art in various forms for businesses as well as brides and grooms. Working in this industry for over 10 years I have certainly met a lot of great people and have had the opportunity to work on numerous big projects. We would love to partner with other companies to expand their reach and presence in this growing digital age!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Grapevine is a hidden gem in the middle of Dallas and Fort Worth. The town features great eating at a variety of many different restaurants as well as a high end hotel called Hotel Vin with train station at the back of the hotel. The hotel has an on site food court with dozens of foods from cuban to american to italian and chinese, it is sure to have the flavor and tastes you want or you can go sit down with cuisine at Bacchus Kitchen and drinks after at Magnum Speakeasy. The outside courtyard is a great place to enjoy a glass of famous Grapevine wine and listen to music from local artists on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The train across the courtyard can take you into Fort Worth for an evening at the Stockyards if you want to experience the full cowboy experience with more great restaurants in walking distance. The experience riding the train and seeing the sites on the trip is a must if you are stopping into Grapevine!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A recent book I am reading that has changed my view of business ownership is Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki. The book dives into the importance of growing a business and investing your money. There are so many benefits that come with owning your own business and to be able to create freedom and your own path in life is what is important to me. I would recommend everyone read this book, it reconfirmed some ideas I had about money and empowered me to go out and make a difference.
