We had the good fortune of connecting with Roslynn Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roslynn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was at a crossroads in my career and felt unfulfilled. I prayed for a way to leave my job financially well with no money left on the table at my exit. All I can say is be careful what you pray for and be sure to be strategic in your prayer…I wasn’t! I forgot to say without injury or harm. All I knew was working for someone was no longer an option. I wanted control of my time, life, and earning potential. How? I had no clue! While out of work I thought about the things I wanted to do when graduating high school, and massage was a profession I was interested in and knew my hands were gifted for it. Sitting at a friends house and saw a commercial for massage school and called to setup a tour. The rest is history!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
This journey of being a boss has not been easy! You learn something every second of every day, you want to quit at times and have to give yourself pep talks in the mirror or cry and scream your head off then dust yourself off and try again. I have lost everything TWICE in the five and a half years I’ve been in business. The first time I was featured in Voyage Magazine the picture I chose to use as my “fun” photo was strategic and meaningful. See, I was homeless and sleeping in my car outside of WalMart Supercenter. I had came from a 50th birthday party with a friend and did a selfie shoot in my car outside of WalMart in my usual parking spot before retiring for the night. When I was contacted for the opportunity to be featured in Voyage it was a no brainer for me to use one of those photos. I thought no one knows about my situation or at least the whole situation and when I look back at this opportunity in a few years I will know how far I’ve come with God’s guidance. Sometimes you need to see how you overcame not just hear about it. Roslyn’s Healing Touch LLC brings healing and relaxation into your home, office, or hotel. We believe no matter where you are when the pain, tension, and stress hits massage is just a phone call away. We also have a location at 1104 W. Pioneer Parkway Suite 200 Arlington, TX 76013. The first time I cleaned and massaged the feet of the homeless at the age of 10, and saw the joy it gave them…I knew for sure this is it. I love teaching people to be aware of their bodies and how to heal themselves naturally. I was blessed with a God given gift to help in the healing process with my hands. I strive to learn as much as possible so I can help everyone I touch no matter how big or small. I get excited about life…period. Life is a journey to greater and everything in it excites me. Good, bad, indifferent days and circumstances are exciting. The appreciation of it all gives me strength to go another day, love another day, heal another day, give another day, grow another day, laugh another day. What’s not exciting about that?!?! Types of issues addressed are: Burn Scars, Sciatica, Neck/Shoulder, Low Back Pain, Tennis/Golfer Elbow, Headaches/Migraines, PTSD, trauma, chronic pain/injury. Every session is unique to the client needs. Other Services provided: Massage parties, Corporate, Special events, Baby Showers, Bachelorette parties, Etc… Call Roslynn’s Healing Touch LLC to schedule your escape!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would rent a room in an Air BnB owned by Fredrick and Tara Robinson in Grand Prairie, TX for the week so we can relax free of distractions, partake in their stretching class along with swing out lessons. Some of the hot spots to hit would be Lava Cantina The Colony for great drinks and music. Have to visit Prayer Mountain for a spiritual hike. Schedule facials at Glam Spa Skin Gym in Arlington, TX. Sherry is the best in DFW and the only person I allow to touch my face. She offers massages as well but seeing as though I’m the massage therapist she calls on I have to schedule massages at Where Body Meets Soul with Erica “The Muscle Whisperer” in Arlington, TX. She is definitely one of the best in DFW (besides ME! LOL) and my location is in her building. We both love the water so lunch at Oasis is a possibility. Some of the food places we would visit are: Smoke A Holics BBQ, Pappadeaux because she loves that place, Andalous Mediterranean Grill, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, First Watch for brunch I’m not the club type person but Club Ritzy would be a stop for grown folks dancing and music. We would hang out on West 7th St in Ft. Worth and Arlington HIghlands for the sports bars and happy hours.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, all dedication goes to God for giving me the gift and carrying me through the trials of being an entrepreneur. Second, my aunt Verna Temple for taking me with her when doing foot ministry and teaching me the importance of giving compassion, love, and respect to ALL people no matter where they are in life at that time. My daughter Kassandra Swanson for pushing me to be greater, tolerating my craziness/competitiveness through another degree, and being my #1 cheerleader. Last and certainly not least my family and friends that supported me in pursuing my dream and sowing seeds of encouragement, prayer and monetary donations.
