We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosario Duran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rosario, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks is crucial for personal and career growth, especially when things are tough. For me, as a Latina woman, taking risks has been key to breaking through barriers and finding success. It often means stepping into leadership roles, advocating for change, or chasing unconventional goals. It’s all about empowerment and opening new doors.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey started with the FDCLA in 2016, where I helped bring the film community together and supported the Latino community as an event coordinator. In 2018, I co-founded Vivid Vita Events LLC and launched Fiesta Charra in Lewisville, TX. This event has become one of my greatest joys, bringing together the Charro community from across North Texas and turning an idea into a celebrated occasion.

The path hasn’t been easy—there have been many challenges, but the hard work behind the scenes has made it all worth it. Seeing our ideas come to life is incredibly rewarding.

Alongside my work with Vivid Vita Events, I’m excited about my involvement with SunDoc, a company I helped start in 2024 with Dr. Bocken. We sell popular sunglasses brands, with most of the profits going to the Coastal Bend Food Bank and the Wounded Warrior Project. Working with a well-known optometrist to support these charities has been a fulfilling new chapter.

Each step of this journey has brought valuable lessons and new opportunities, and I’m excited for what the future holds. I want the world to know that every event and initiative reflects a deep commitment to community and a passion for making a difference.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Dallas and Lewisville for a week, here’s how I’d plan an unforgettable trip:

Start with brunch at The Henry in Dallas for a chic and tasty meal. Afterward, dive into the Dallas Arts District with visits to the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. For dinner, head to Pappadeaux’s Seafood Kitchen and wrap up the evening with stunning views from Reunion Tower.

Explore the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza to delve into JFK’s history. Grab lunch at The Market and then take a leisurely stroll through Klyde Warren Park, sampling treats from the food trucks. In the evening, drive to Mi Dia From Scratch in Grapevine, TX, and enjoy live music in downtown Grapevine.

Enjoy brunch at Leo’s Brunch House in Carrollton, TX, then spend the afternoon shopping at NorthPark Center and relaxing at White Rock Lake or walking the Katy Trail. For dinner, savor a meal at Steakhouse 71 and enjoy a cocktail at The Rustic.

Start the day with breakfast at The Rustic and then visit the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Have lunch at Meso Maya Comida y Copas, then explore either the Dallas Zoo or the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. End the day with a casual dinner at Meddlesome Moth and try some local craft beers.

Head to Lewisville for breakfast at Seven Miles Café. Spend the afternoon at Lewisville Lake Park for some lakeside relaxation or outdoor fun. Finish with dinner at Angelina’s Mexican Restaurant and catch some live music or a local event in Lewisville.

This itinerary covers a mix of cultural highlights, outdoor adventures, and delicious dining experiences to ensure a memorable visit to Dallas and Lewisville TX!
