We had the good fortune of connecting with Rocky Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rocky, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think taking risks are necessary in almost every aspect of life – professionally, personally, romantically, etc. Nothing is ever a guarantee, but we pursue the things that we are drawn to in hopes that we’ll find the experiences we’re looking for.

In my life and career, I’ve taken risks that were calculated, and I’ve also taken some risks that purely came from a gut feeling. More often than not, going in the direction that I felt compelled towards has worked out pretty damn well. I don’t like regrets. I don’t like to hold back. If anything – my life and all the success to date is a testament to staring risks in the face, giving it the middle finger, and then doing what I felt urged to do anyway. I don’t think I’d have half as much of the success that I have now if I didn’t take risks. To this day, it’s still 10000% scary as hell! But what’s the alternative? Never having the life of my dreams? F* that.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What I’m most excited about is how CALI HNDSME is venturing into the space of male cosmetic tools. Our MVP Beard Pencil is literally our #1 Best Seller and has been since we launched it in January 2021. It’s a product that is new but fixes a real problem for guys. Whether you have patches in your beard, a thinning hairline, or are just in between haircut appointments – our MVP Beard Pencil will get you looking fresh. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re absolutely going for drinks at JOEYS DTLA. That is my spot! Yamashiro in Hollywood is so beautiful and feels like such an amazing escape. I’d probably also take them horseback riding at Sunset Ranch.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course! This shoutout has to go to my absolute beast of a creative team!!! Jeremy David and Dylan Amble. The way we create content for the brand that resonates so well and speaks authentically to what the brand is all about – it’s magic. Outside of being rockstars at what they do professionally, they’re also the coolest people to vibe with and be around. Being on set with them sometimes for literally dayssssssss is still always a blast!
