We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhiannon Rouyre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rhiannon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind Reverie Studios TX, has always been focused on the desire to be great, I just didn’t know at what. When I started my photography journey, I focused on families, weddings and child portraits. Boudoir photography intimidated me, I was down right terrified to jump into a genre that has some of the most amazing creatives in the field, literally right down the road. All I knew at that time. was I wanted to be great, I didn’t understand my ‘Why’, why did I want to be great and why did I want to focus on this type of photography? I was scared of judgement and failure, of course, but also scared that women would be putting their confidence and most vulnerable selves, in my hands. That is a huge undertaking, one wrong move and you could destroy a fragile client. As women we are held to the most absurd standards by the media, Hollywood ect. I struggled with body image myself and battled with my mental health most of my life. I knew I wasn’t alone. I wasn’t very good when I started this journey, all it took was ONE woman to have faith in me. I used my own bedroom as a shooting space, and it was really hard to see my self beyond that moment, imposter syndrome was real! The thing I never did, was quit. I kept at it, I focused on my education of ALL body types. I didn’t realize that by creating beautiful art for other women, that I could change lives.

It took me 4 years to truly understand my ‘Why’, it is every woman whom steps into my studio. My team and I, are in the business of changing lives and Because of the incredible women who trust me, my thought process never changed. My why became about being great at helping women see themselves in the most beautiful light, NO MATTER where they are on their journey to self-worth and self-love.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Reverie Studios TX, is all about empowering women, loving who you are and treasuring the body you have, right now, at this very moment. I specialize in intimate portraits and am known for creating a safe space to embrace their bodies, no matter where they are on their self-love journey. I dream of a day that every woman truly learns to love themselves, and I want to be a part of it. I am most proud of the loft studio I have built for myself and my clients, that was a huge dream of mine and sometimes I cannot believe it’s actually mine! I have worked my tail off for everything I have accomplished. There were times I would work for weeks, 16-18 hours a day, 7 days a week. Chasing your dreams is not for the weak. This journey has not been easy, and I don’t think it will ever be easy, I just try and find the best solution to any hard times, remembering my why. I enjoy the challenge, I love uplifting the women in my community and showing them a side they haven’t been acquainted with in a long time. It’s my greatest superpower, to wear the armor of these women’s insecurities and create something beautiful. My want to be great is what kept pushing me to overcome any challenges. We as women tend to get lost in being mothers, wives, employees and all the things in between, my studio is an escape from the outside world.

From the moment clients step into the studio we hype them up for their session. Ashley Marie Artistry is the glam queen of Reverie Studios TX, she is an amazing hype woman to each client, the experience starts in her chair! Clients always turn to friends, I love that.

I want the world to know that I am a warrior of a woman, I will take your confidence and protect it with all that I am. I am absolutely living proof that you do not have to settle for mediocre if you want something, GO MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR YOURSELF. Fight for what you want and never stop reaching for greatness, no one will care about your dreams more than you do, ever, so chase them hard.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to 7th street, of course, there is everything you could think of over there to choose from to eat. We would go play top-golf, and visit sundance square. The stockyards are also a fantastic time. There is so much to do there with all the history. I love the tiny bars and the western atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, my husband, Michael Rouyre, deserves a huge shout-out!! He has been my biggest fan and number one supporter through this entire journey, after all, he is the one who put a camera in my hands almost 7 years ago. He has always believed in every ounce of my abilities, even when I don’t believe in myself. He gave me all the tools I needed to pursue this dream and I am so blessed to have him cheering me on, reminding me that I can do hard things. Michael built all of the furniture pieces in my killer studio and has always said YES to anything I ask. Without him and my amazing clients, this dream isn’t possible.
