We had the good fortune of connecting with Raymond Delmar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raymond, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own business because I desired certain goals for my family. I desired to leave my children, and future generations a legacy. I started a business because of a desire to help people. As I have been working for someone else, I do not see the real opportunities to affect positive change in my neighborhood, in culture, my family or circle of friends and associates. Being an entrepreneur affords me the opportunity to get my hands dirty, if you will. I can see the situation through my own eyes, and have the freedom to engage with the situation on a more personal basis. Moreover, I get to choose which “projects” to focus on, without being hindered by a time clock, or others’ opinion of importance. Being my own boss allows me to shape the model for our company. We determine the need, and then development the services to meet that need. This is not the case as employee of another company. As an entrepreneur, I can dream it, and then execute it, according what I envision it to be.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Ramled Productions is a media production, and music promotions company. We began operations in 1985 as Uptempo Entertainment, providing DJ services, and artist management and promotions for gospel recording artists. In 1993, we upgraded services to include radio production. In 1997, we re-branded as Ramled Entertainment, and added sports production, television and weddings to our repertoire, combining all services under one umbrella. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina shut down all operations. Now operating out of Arlington, Texas, we are reborn and doing business under our new banner, Ramled Productions, and ready to serve all of your video production needs. Ramled Productions has experience in the fields of radio and television broadcasting, audio and video production, public relations, and music promotions. We look forward to meeting all of your production needs. Whether its sports, a wedding, company conference, or a ministry television program, we will provide you with professional, quality production. If live entertainment is needed, we have some of the best musical talent available for your event. Has it been easy? Definitely not! Add to a complete transition of family and business from New Orleans, a much smaller media market, to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, the 5th largest media market in the US, is a global pandemic that shuts down events, sports, gatherings, etc. So, like everyone else, we had to get creative to stay alive. We almost shut down. But what was a huge assistance, was the declaration of the media industry as essential. I thank God for grace!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We definitely would go to Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, if it were summer. The go kart track, bowling, the zoo, and the theater. We would eat at various restaurants across the Metroplex. I would take them to check out some of the best live entertainment anywhere. There are a plethora of sports in this area; so we would have to catch some games.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to send a big, gigantic shoutout to my wife, Katrina, and my children. Without their support I could not do any of what I’m doing. And my church family of Hope International Ministries
