We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Tims and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted financial freedom and to be in control of my days. I wanted flexibility in my daily life to enjoy my family and pursue other interests.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have personal experience with relocating and moving, we have moved 18 times in 30 years. That allows me to identify with my clients making this transition in their lives and take pride in helping them navigate the process. Buying a home should be one of the most joyous times in your life and I try to alleviate the stress for my clients. It was easier than I thought it would be to start my business, it has been exciting and fast paced. I have loved every minute of it. I have accomplished more than I ever imagined I would. I have learned that I am more capable than I knew, and that being confident and trusting myself is 99% of it. I want the world to know that I am sincere in my efforts to help my clients find the best home for them and have a great experience doing it. There is no dream home too big or too small, everyone has their own version of a dream home and they deserve to achieve it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely sleep in everyday! We would lunch at local eateries such as Whistle Britches, Sky Blossom, Ms. Mary’s Southern Kitchen, or Rodeo Goat, try something different everyday.
We would spend the afternoons shopping at my favorite places, Dolly Python, Scheels, Wild Bill’s Western Store, Flea Style, and wandering the local town squares like Mckinney Downtown and Grapevine. We would absolutely go to the Dallas Art Museum and stroll through all of the attractions in downtown Dallas one afternoon, such as the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza.
Checking out the Frisco Star would have to be worked in as well, a great place to wander around and then catch drinks and dinner at Tupelo Honey or Cityworks.
We would catch drinks at Cidercade, Backyard, The Truck Yard, The Tipsy Alchemist, or Apothecary.
We would have nightly dinners at my favorites, Seasons 52, Hutchins Bar B Q, Babes Chicken House, or Joe’s Italian Bistro.
Somewhere in there we would have to work in Dinner and a movie at The Cut.
If there is a good concert in town that would be a must, especially an outdoor one.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family for being supportive and my husband Kevin for always encouraging me and believing I can be successful, even when I don’t believe in myself.
