We had the good fortune of connecting with Quinn Persinger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quinn, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The culture of our community has always been the most important factor to building FIT4MOM West Plano from a business standpoint. Motherhood is something that everyone experiences differently, everyone grows in different ways, yet it is an experience we all share. FIT4MOM was created to be a source of connectivity; building strength in moms both physically and emotionally throughout each stage of motherhood. In this way, our FIT4MOM West Plano community is unique from other fitness services or box gyms. As an owner, it is most important to me that our community allows a mom to have a safe place where she feels welcomed, cared for, and will grow to love our community as her own. When she knows we believe in her, she believes in us, as a community and a business. When the heart of your business is bigger than you are as an owner, you will find success there. In an industry saturated with box gyms and on-demand programs, I am proud of the programs we offer, but more importantly, I am grateful for the opportunity to provide connection, community, and strength for mamas in every stage of their amazing journey in motherhood.Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The toughest lesson I learned through my business owning experience (so far) is that boundaries are important to honor. I felt so much pressure to engage and post every free second I had in my day. Unfortunately, this was usually during nap-time or in the evenings on the couch with my husband. We both felt the mind-numbing annoyance of the constant to-dos and decided to give my workday more structure. I realized I was spending a CRAZY amount of time around social media and planning that could have been divided in a much more efficient way. I started meeting real businesses and calling other professionals/owners to learn more about who they are and share more about FIT4MOM West Plano. I think in todays social media world, it is so important to keep perspective on numbers you see there. I felt so much pressure to be relevant on social media and to be a “presence” so moms could find me! What I learned was that accounts can only push your business so far. Group fitness for prenatal/postpartum moms is a very vulnerable clientele and in my experience, real referrals from friends or trusted resources are really the biggest factor in converting membership. Yes, post the content, but real people and real connections outweigh the algorithm, in my market at least.Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are so lucky to be in such a great area that there are so many amazing places to hang out and enjoy amazing food around town. While we have not been out as much lately (the last 4 years), I have a few tried and true spots that we always try to enjoy when we can! These days with two kids, our interesting places include the Herd Museum, the Dallas Arboretum for a picnic, and a Zoo day, but… I always love lunch in Klyde Warren Park followed by wandering around the Perot and the Dallas Museum of Art! The shopping and the dining at Legacy West and The Shops at Legacy is such a fun place to be during the day or even for a night out with live music performed at Legacy Hall! There are so many options, you could almost spend the whole week there! Another favorite stop for us is the Historical Downtown McKinney Square! There are the best locally owned shops and amazing restaurants with live music on the weekends! Snug on the Square is one of my most favorite breakfast spots! A trip to Mary’s Mountain Cookies or Emporium Pie is a m-u-s-t. ___ Armor Coffee in Allen has one of my most favorite lattes, the Queen Elisabeth, half-sweet! It is such an amazing blend of hazelnut and toffee nut- it is my favorite! Salsa Tex-Mex in Plano is one of our favorite places to eat! They have amazing happy hour pricing, their food is phenomenal, and the staff is always so accommodating! It’s a little out of our little area, but in the metroplex, I would definitely make a stop to visit Prince Lebanese in Arlington and Maple & Motor in Dallas!Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Owning a small business has obviously been a rollercoaster, as it usually is, but in a year like 2020, it is incredible to still be open and growing. I cannot thank our current and past members enough for believing in me and our amazing community and choosing to continue to support us. I am fortunate to be writing this piece, still standing as a business owner in 2021. My little family obviously getting a huge shout out. From late night craft assembly, social planning, to delivering raffle prizes, they are always the best helpers and really are my encouragers. To our membership and all the moms who have supported our community in the last four years, THANK YOU! I have founding members still present and they are still loving our community so well! Our instructing team past and present helped to create to the culture of our community I believe in so much. Lastly, I also work closely with some sister franchises in FIT4MOM DALLAS, TEMPLE/BELTON and LONG BEACH which has been such a great lifeline throughout 2020. Together we share ideas, marketing plans, success stories and growth experiences! These ladies deserve a shout out for being so supportive and kind to me as a peer!
