We had the good fortune of connecting with Pierce Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pierce, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When it came to starting On Set Acting Studio, I truly wanted to create a space for young actors to have the resources such as auditioning for agents & working with professionals that have the experience in the industry. The mindset behind OSAS was we cater to young actors ages 6 years old all the way to 20 year olds wanting to take it to the next level and pursue this full time. Texas and specifically the Dallas/Ft.Worth area, has so much talent and many performers just don’t know how to get their foot in the door or what that next step is. OSAS strives to provide those resources to our students & help them be has prepared as possible for when the opportunity arises whether it be auditioning for an agent, commercials, TV Shows, or for movies. Our studio has even branched out and opened a vocal department to help the actors be well rounded and have an edge over others that are out their auditioning.

What should our readers know about your business?
On Set Acting Studio sets itself apart from other acting studios as our studio focuses on preparing the students to be out working in the real world. We provide not only the training, but the resources to getting started & taking it to the next level. Some of our actors have gone on to sign with Warner Brothers & be leads in shows on Nickelodeon. I personally have been in the acting industry for many years & have been in shows such as ABC’s American Crime, Marvels TV Show The Gifted on Fox, & a movie directed by Robert Rodriguez where I was one of the main antagonists in the film.

With any business, there were many ups and downs along the way. But I tell my actors that the name of the game is perseverance when it comes to this industry. I also think this is true in any thing that you do especially if it is something you are truly passionate about.

As a business owner, I am constantly asking what can we do to help set us apart from other studios. Also, I always am hungry to learn something new & continue growing not only as a business owner but as a person. It is all connected and you aways have to keep the mind sharp & try to stay current to what is going on in your industry.

By doing all this, I ensure my actors can set themselves apart from other actors that are going in for the same role as they are. I strive to instill confidence when it comes to not only their craft but to them as a person and what they have to offer. So much that is learned in the classroom can be applied to other areas of their lives when they go out into the real world. The art of acting can be used in scenarios such as speaking in front of audiences, job interviews, and being able to carry themselves with overall confidence. It is always so rewarding to see students who come in super shy & nervous and after some time find that passion or courage to step outside their comfort zone by pushing themselves to be the best version of themselves they can be. I want them walking away with the skill set of not only being a competent actor but more importantly a more self assured person.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, when it comes to going out I always love to just relax & hangout around local restaurants. The Dallas/Ft.Worth area has so many great places that are fun and cater to families of all ages! I would recommend places such as the Ft.Worth zoo or even the reunion tower to eat and see Dallas. Ft.Worth has the stockyards and so many great places to eat and hangout!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When it comes to thanking those that helped with the success that On Set Acting Studio has had, I have many people and mentors I owe so much too!

The first person I would thank is my amazing wife, Maggie who has been apart of the journey and held my hand during the trials of being a business owner & for her continued support. So many times she spoke encouragement and vision into the potential that On Set Acting Studio could be. Never allowing me to give up and to hold on just a little longer to see the fruit of the hard work & labor.

Another person I am so thankful for is my mother, Dana Bailey who is a business owner herself and taught me everything I know when it comes to owning a business. Without her wisdom and guidance, I would have not known where to even start. Without her love & support, On Set Acting Studio would have never came to be as she was the first to encourage the dream.

Also, I thank God for the blessed life I live and everything that OSAS has become and continues to be! I am so thankful & OSAS truly is like a family as we have the best students and parents!
