We had the good fortune of connecting with Neydah Riz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Neydah, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
It’s pretty simple: travel! Not just the obvious benefit of seeing different places of our beautiful planet and experiencing cultures but I’ve learned a lot about myself during my journey. Additionally, traveling (properly) makes for a well-rounded personality and you realize that the world is much bigger than your own concerns and preferences.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a travel & fashion social media influencer. My photos, videos, stories and reels inspire people to get out and travel more. My content is not just aesthetic but it’s informative in terms of awareness about travel destinations, tips & tricks and secrets that can make your experience that much better!
I show people that being fashionable needn’t be an expensive pursuit; you just need a good dressing sense. Shop smart, travel smarter, look fabulous! This sets my content apart.
The biggest challenge has been balancing form and function. I am honest with my viewers and I’ll be honest here as well. In extreme places like Iceland, you cannot walk out onto a glacier in high heels or a flowing red dress (at least not for more more than a minute!). Yet, I relish the challenge and find ways to still look picture-ready without compromising my safety and well being.
In this line of work, trends are huge. Anyone can get lost following a trend but I advocate a policy of following what works for you individually and also having the confidence to set trends!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We gotta go bar-hopping in Deep Ellum & Uptown Dallas! Thu-Sat nights would be ideal. Dallas also has some hidden photography spots if you’re feeling glamorous or just want a fun portrait! Some of the parks like Prairie Creek or the Arboretum area really cool locations along with Downtown Frisco. The restaurant scene in DFW is fast improving with some big-name chefs opening new restaurants here. We’d definitely go to Del Frisco or to Nusret’s. For the weekend, I’d suggest a trip to Hill Country near Austin for a lovely drive and a taste of the Texan countryside.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My undergrad biology professor, Mr. Simmons! (Sounds strange, I know!) I remember the first time I visited his office during office hours to discuss a quiz, I saw a beautiful assortment of photographs on his wall. They had nothing to do with Biology but they were these amazing places from around the world. We conversed about his travels and realized he was quite the explorer! On his suggestion, I made a trip to Glacier National Park and I haven’t looked back since! That was the true moment where I knew my travel appetite was insatiable. Since then, I’ve kept in touch with him and we often exchange travel notes!
