We had the good fortune of connecting with Moonhyung Kang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Moonhyung, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
In my Taekwondo career, I aspire for my legacy to be one of inspiration, empowerment, and transformative impact. I want to be remembered not just for my achievements and accolades in the martial arts industry, but more importantly, for the positive influence I’ve had on my students and the Taekwondo community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Thank you for the opportunity to share more about my Taekwondo journey. My career in Taekwondo has been a deeply rewarding and transformative experience, and there are several aspects that I believe set me apart from others in this field.

One of the key elements that distinguishes my career is my educational approach to teaching Taekwondo. While many schools focus primarily on physical training and competition, I emphasize the importance of mental discipline, character development, and life skills. I strive to create an environment where students not only excel in martial arts but also grow as individuals who embody respect, perseverance, and integrity.

What I want the world to know about me and Master Kang’s Evolve Taekwondo is that our mission goes beyond teaching martial arts. We are dedicated to empowering individuals through Taekwondo, helping them discover their potential, and cultivating leaders who make a positive impact on their communities. Our story is one of passion, resilience, and the transformative power of martial arts. We believe in the lifelong benefits of Taekwondo and are committed to sharing these with as many people as possible.

In conclusion, my Taekwondo career is a testament to the power of hard work, community, and a commitment to personal growth. I am excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing this incredible journey with my students and the broader Taekwondo community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, head to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden for a peaceful stroll through beautiful gardens. And Enjoy dinner at Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum, famous for its mouth-watering BBQ. Afterward, explore the live music scene in Deep Ellum or attend a performance at the Winspear Opera House or catch a concert at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My journey in Taekwondo has been deeply influenced by the incredible support, mentorship, and encouragement I’ve received from various individuals and groups along the way.

First and foremost, I want to dedicate my shoutout to my Taekwondo Teacher and mentor, Grand Master Jae Hun Kim.. His unwavering dedication to the art and his students ignited my passion for Taekwondo from a young age. His teachings went beyond techniques and forms; he instilled in me the values of discipline, respect, and perseverance that have been the foundation of my career.
