We had the good fortune of connecting with Moises Castellon Solorzano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Moises, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Everything. From quitting a stable job doing digital marketing to pursue my passion and giving a shot to what I called my hobby.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a photographer, but I consider myself a dreamer; with my feet on the ground and my head in the clouds. I am lucky enough to have found my passion and turned it into a profession that pushes me to be a better version of myself.

I consider myself to have the best of both worlds: I am very outgoing, easy to talk to, and easy to relate to, although my extroverted personality might fool you, deep down I am a romantic at heart.

I want to capture the simple things. All the little things and moments that make this adventure called life worthwhile. What brings joy to the people who hire me.

My approach is simple; up close and personal. Transmitting energy between two people is my version of love.

I think one of the primary keys that took me where I am today is keeping loyal to being an open book with my clients, letting them know who I really am, and creating a bond and connection, those 2 things are the primary motor things that let me capture their true self, not being captured by a “photographer” but by a “friend”.

In my first years as a wedding photographer, I was too worried about what other people in the industry thought of me or my work and I tried to make my images based on what that people is going to think of them and the day I realized that I had to start making images that, first of all, I liked and then my clients like too for my style and approach. When is started doing that everything fell so easy and started to grow as a professional.

My brand is simple, I’m a guy who is going to cry with the bride’s dad when making his speech and when the couple is saying their vows and will capture my couple as they are and as they want to be seen by the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
i live in Managua the capital of Nicaragua, the country of lakes and volcanoes, I would definitely take them to climb a volcano and see lava in real life, take them to Granada, one of the oldest colonial cities in the country and finish up with a real Nicaraguan fritanga on Asados Dona Tania.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife for always trusting in me and pushing me to take risks. My family and friends for their support. My clients for their trust in my craft and last but not least, GOD for never leaving me alone and teaching me lessons.
