We had the good fortune of connecting with Mohammad Al-Badah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mohammad, what makes you happy? Why?
What makes me happy is being able to share things that I have created. Whether it’s a beautiful photo on my @dudeeatsfood instagram account, music from my hip hop group Tiger Fire Company No. 1, or even something as simple as sharing a solution to a problem that someone else is facing at my day job. To be able to create and have that creation appreciated by others is what keeps me motivated in most aspects of my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Dudeeatsfood was a passion project that started when I was living in Austin, TX with my wife. We loved to eat out and try new places so it only seemed natural to want to start documenting our adventures. This then transitioned to the Dallas scene two years ago, though admittedly I have been a bit less active lately. I would say that this was easy for the most part since a lot of it would have been things we were going to do anyways. The most difficult part was coming up with captions and finding hashtags that would garner the correct audiences. This is still a struggle for my to this day, but I have learned to look at other similar blogs and try to emulate their hash tag game whilst sprinkling a bit of my own personality in there. Another challenge was dealing with poor quality lighting in certain locations – luckily, this has since been overcome with advancements in mobile phone technology,

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friend to Bishop Arts. We would start at the cidery with a couple flights and try out all of the delicious ciders they have to offer. Once we are through, we would walk over to grab some of the best paella in the DFW at Sketches of Spain. After the paella, we’ll take our bulging tummy’s over to Emporium pies and grab a slice of the gluten free chocolate pie. Finally, to round out an amazing day of taste bud titillation – we would make our way to the Wild Detective bar/bookshop hybrid to wind down with a night cap and a good read.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife deserves the most credit for allowing me to narrow my focus and stay committed. Before I met her I would try things and hardly ever see a project through. I also have to thank my friends and family for the encouragement especially with supporting my musical endeavors.
