Meet Michele Ray Williams | Wardrobe Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Ray Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always loved color, art, and fashion. Growing up my mother and aunt had a successful business in fashion. My aunt was educated in art and a successful interior design/architecture development firm in California. Surrounded by creative women I absorbed so much that unbeknownst to me would shape me into adulthood. Though my career path started in finance and technology I always presented myself in a wardrobe fitting my profession and lifestyle within my budget. Friends started asking me to help them pick outfits for special occasions, travel, and general wardrobe building. At the time in my life when I was considering a change and leaving the corporate world behind I started thinking of many types of small businesses that I could create, develop and grow. Naturally, a personal shopper was the perfect fit, and off I went. Thirteen years later I continue to help women build their wardrobes while most importantly seeing themselves through an accepting lens of their unique beauty rather than judgment and comparison.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I help women save time and money by building a wardrobe that works for their beautiful and unique bodies, and a lifestyle that lasts season to season. As a brand representative and personal stylist with Cabi for over 10 years, I provide an alternative shopping experience for women frustrated with shopping via traditional retail channels. I bring seasonal clothing collections to your home or office, or you visit my in-home boutique, where I share almost 100 pieces of gorgeous clothes that will take you from the board room to a night out or to the sports field with personalized styling tips. As a result, my clients feel confident and dressed for their unique success.

In addition to sharing new collections, I also provide services such as Closet Makeovers where I help with purging unwanted; incorrect fit, and damaged items, and refreshing looks with what is in a woman’s current wardrobe. And of course, helping select special event dressing, and providing styling tips for a woman’s unique style.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my new Texas community, there is so much rich history and culture that even after three years here I haven’t touched the surface. My favorites are the art museums and old west history in Fort Worth, the countryside in No Texas, and discovering all the wineries in the area. The people are friendly, helpful, and accommodating as discovery is the fun part…and of course the BBQ.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
How could I do this without the continued support of my close circle of friends and clients who trust my knowledge and expertise that helps them see their unique beauty which provides confidence in how they represent themselves in their professions and daily lives?
