We had the good fortune of connecting with Michaelle De La Torre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michaelle, how does your business help the community?
MAD Boutique was created from the life story behind Founder Michaelle De La Torre. Growing up, De La Torre was oblivious to the cruel world around her, not understanding how anyone could have ill will towards someone they didn’t know. It wasn’t until De La Torre grew up that she understood that you can’t control how others feel toward you. So with MAD Boutique, she wanted to create a fashion brand that would give a reason; a sense of style to be looked at by everyone when you walk into a room, but it didn’t stop there. De La Torre wanted to do more with the message, and that’s when The MAD Girls Club was created. A community of women who do not gate-keep or hate but rather empower and create a sisterhood from having a similar life journey. MAD Boutique helps the community of women by creating a place where they can feel free to know they won’t be judged and can become the greatest version of themselves.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets the MAD Boutique from others is you don’t just go shopping and call it a day. You go shopping and tune in afterward to The MAD Girls Club on any podcast streaming service or YouTube. Ultimately you end up feeling connected to the brand itself and the sisterhood behind it, and that’s what I’m most proud of, making people feel beautiful on the outside and inside.

Having any business is never easy; it comes with many financial challenges, mental challenges, and the challenges of the internet. But taking it day by day and task by task will help you with the concrete stuff. As for the others, once you accept that things cannot happen overnight, rather you have to work every day and work on the “how” by doing your own research and studies is how you will succeed in life because nothing will ever be handed for free. You willingly have to find the answers and apply them to your business to see any changes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I always like to say DFW is a “mini LA” because we have so much to offer and many great places to eat and have fun. A great way to find out what’s in the area is by looking through hashtags like #dallasfood or #dfwfoodie. You’ll even find social accounts catered to people looking for things to do in DFW. But the areas I would recommend visiting are Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, Bishop Arts, Trinity Groves, Uptown, and Fort Worth Stockyards.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As cliché as it may sound, my husband, Manuel, has been my greatest supporter. He helped me pursue my dreams and deserves all the shoutouts for helping me achieve my goals.
