We had the good fortune of connecting with Michaelia Nobles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michaelia, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my business came from my passion for storytelling and my desire to create a platform where people can openly discuss topics of faith, healing, and resilience. I wanted to share my personal journey of overcoming adversity, which led to the creation of my book, *Pain Raised Me but Trauma Healed Me*. The process of writing the book made me realize how powerful it is to be vulnerable and share the lessons we learn through life’s challenges.
To expand this vision, I started my podcast, *Just Keep It Real*, where I dive deeper into these themes, inviting guests and engaging with listeners on real-life struggles and triumphs. The podcast provides a safe space to explore empowering topics that encourage personal growth, emotional healing, and a stronger sense of faith. Through both my book and podcast, I aim to uplift others and build a community centered on authenticity and empowerment.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is my dedication to authenticity and transformation, both in my life and my work. I’ve always been passionate about sharing real, raw stories, which is why my podcast *Just Keep It Real* stays true to its name. Through my podcast and my book *Pain Raised Me but Trauma Healed Me*, I strive to offer a voice to people on similar journeys and navigating the complexities of pain, healing, and finding faith along the way. I’m excited about creating connections that go beyond the surface, empowering people to see the power of resilience and faith.
The journey to where I am today was far from easy. I’ve faced challenges that tested my faith from personal hardships to the ups and downs of building my brand. One major obstacle was overcoming the self-doubt that often came with sharing my story so publicly. But with every struggle, I’ve leaned on my faith, using prayer and reading the word to get through. By focusing on what I can give to others rather than the fears holding me back, I’ve been able to keep moving forward.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that healing and growth are lifelong processes. It’s not about perfection; it’s about consistency and the willingness to face difficult truths. My story and brand reflect that deeply held belief: trauma and hardships don’t define us, but how we choose to heal from them can reshape us in powerful ways.
What I want the world to know is that my work is about creating spaces for healing, understanding, and empowerment. My journey isn’t just about me it’s about all of us who need the reminder that we’re capable of breaking cycles, finding purpose, and discovering strength through faith. Whether it’s through my podcast, my book, or future projects like my upcoming play adaptation, I’m here to share stories that remind others that transformation is always possible.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Dallas, I’d be excited to show them everything that makes the city vibrant, from amazing food spots to artsy neighborhoods and unique attractions. Starting off, we’d dive right into Dallas’s incredible food scene. Day one would kick off with breakfast at Bread Winners Cafe for some fresh pastries and hearty brunch plates. From there, we’d head over to the Dallas Museum of Art, which has a fantastic collection that’s free to explore, followed by a trip to Klyde Warren Park. It’s a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the food trucks and outdoor games. For dinner, we’d make our way to Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum, famous for its mouthwatering BBQ – an absolute must when in Texas!
On day two, we’d start our morning with coffee and breakfast at the charming Ascension Coffee before heading to the Bishop Arts District. This neighborhood is filled with eclectic shops, colorful murals, and plenty of unique boutiques and galleries. We’d explore all the cool spots, like Emporium Pies for a sweet treat and Society for local art finds. Later, we’d grab lunch at Eno’s Pizza Tavern, a local favorite for thin-crust pizza, then spend the evening at Trinity Groves. The area has a fantastic view of the Dallas skyline and a range of restaurants to choose from, so we’d pick a spot to try some Tex-Mex and finish with dessert at Cake Bar.
For day three, we’d hit NorthPark Center, one of the best malls in Dallas, for some shopping. NorthPark has a mix of high-end brands, unique art installations, and cozy spots to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. After a shopping spree, we’d stop at La Duni Latin Cafe in the mall for lunch, enjoying their Latin-inspired dishes and freshly baked treats. In the afternoon, we’d visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, which is stunning and offers beautiful lakeside views. Dinner would be at the Velvet Taco, a popular spot for unique taco flavors, and we’d catch a movie at the historic Texas Theatre to end the day.
The following days would include a visit to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, where there’s something for everyone, from interactive exhibits to incredible dinosaur displays. We’d grab lunch at True Food Kitchen for a healthy yet delicious meal, then head to The Shops at Legacy in Plano, just north of Dallas, for more shopping and a laid-back vibe. We’d wrap up the evening with dinner at Haywire, a three-story restaurant with delicious Southern-inspired food, perfect for a Dallas experience.
One of our last stops would be a day trip to Fort Worth, where we’d explore the Stockyards National Historic District, which gives a real taste of Texas cowboy culture. After catching a live cattle drive and exploring the Western shops, we’d have lunch at Joe T. Garcia’s, a legendary Tex-Mex spot known for its lively atmosphere. We’d then return to Dallas for an evening at Reunion Tower, where we’d take in 360-degree views of the city skyline to cap off the trip.
This week-long itinerary would give my best friend a true taste of Dallas, from the diverse food to the cultural gems and iconic Texas experiences. The city’s mix of modern vibes and rich history makes for an unforgettable visit!
