We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquise McBride and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marquise, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I can take no credit for starting FROOT KAVES LLC. It was my kids idea, I just put the money, time, and marketing behind it. Now I work for them full time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m just the CFO MY kids deserve all the credit for our business. What sets us apart from any other lemonade is that we use clean alkaline water vs any other water, fresh squeezed lemons vs lemon juice from concentrate, and we don’t use ANY sugar. Our products are ‘not made to dehydrate ya but rehydrate ya’. Lessons of business? We are still, and always, learning. At the end of everyday, just keep going and have fun while you learn. We will NEVER jeopardize our ingredients for shelf space and we will always keep our integrity even if that means it takes us longer to reach the top.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love to visit Hot Springs, AR. A weekend in Dallas would come with a stop at the OG VEGAN food truck for a vegan po boy. Saturday I’ll hit Bam’s Vegan for his classic nachos. Sunday we will go to The Holistic Market for our hygiene restock. Then maybe the drive in movie. That would be our ideal weekend, when we are not doing events.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off I wanna shout out my kids Marquise II, Kar’Mel, and Carmelo for coming up with this amazing concept.
