We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Without risk, how can there be reward? 2 years ago, at the onset of the pandemic, I had a very cushy job in an office in downtown Fort Worth as an engineer. Before that, I was a door greeter at Walmart after being laid off from an oil and gas job I held for 5 years. In 2020, I realized that if I was going to go anywhere with modeling, acting, activism, entertainment, and all the other things I was doing on the side, I was going to have to give my passions my full attention. I quit my job and had the support of my coworkers as well as my friends and family. Because I took that risk, I’m proud to say I’ve done work for the 4 largest computer companies in the world, some of the largest retailers in the world, and a host of other brands. I see taking risks as doing what’s necessary to get yourself to where you want to go. If every company owner took a risk to achieve their success, why not me?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I inspire people to live a full and rewarding life through the mantra #ACIC: If Ant Can, I Can. After becoming paralyzed (T4 paraplegic), I experienced many valleys and very few peaks. Once I decided feeling sorry for myself wasn’t going to change my situation, I made a commitment to be better every day, regardless of how that manifested itself. I started being more positive and taking my health and fitness seriously. From a wheelchair, I’ve lost 60lbs and have amassed a sizable following on social media, all for the goal and purpose of showing people how they have no excuse to be the best person they can be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Fort Worth is home of some of the best food and nightlife the metroplex has to offer. Arvizu’s Taqueria is usually posted at The Rabbit Hole Pub and has some of the best street tacos in the city. Blue Sushi and Sake and Eddie V’s have you covered on dinner plans. 7th street has too many places to name as far as nightlife. Rahr Brewery has great craft beer and ambiance. The Stockyards is always a given for any visitor and Hotel Drover and Atico are pretty cool spots to hit. You really can’t go wrong in Funkytown.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my daughter Mya who is the driving force behind all I do. My mom for being my biggest cheerleader. My dad, R.I.P., I got us. I want to shout out the BTC team for bringing their talents together to get us to the next level. Shoutout to my agents in Dallas and LA who keep me booked. I want to shoutout my family, friends, and followers for their continued support. I also want shoutout my trainer Randol Ruiz and Gym Evolution, VC Vision for keeping my vision clear, and Loso’s Barbershop for keeping me right for the bright lights. Shoutout to everyone who has been there for me on this journey: it’s only getting started! #ACIC
