We had the good fortune of connecting with Macole Moody and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Macole, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business came from the first week of esthetician school. Our very first exercise at school was to write a letter to ourselves stating what we wanted to accomplish from from the esthetician program. I wrote down 3 goals, the first one was to become a traveling esthetician which I did, and the second one was to open my own spa. . The third goal is still on the horizon, but I’m currently living out my dream because I truly believed that skincare was my path to the life I truly wanted to live.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I got to where I’m at today by trying a bunch of things and finding what I was good at and just…. doing it. It sounds so cliche but it’s really that simple. Once you find what you’re good at you simply just keep doing it and your aura will attract the right clientele that you want for your business to grow and sustain itself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week in Dallas with my best friend consists of going to Dinner at: Day one: Sixty Vines
Day Two: Moxies
Day Three: Hudson House
Day Four: Wabi House
Day Five: Nick & Sam’s
Day Six: Drake’s
Day 7: Nobu

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My aunt Lori Lightfoot played a huge part in my success today. Before moving back to Dallas and opening Skin Sculpt Spa, I was living in Chicago at at her house and everyday I witness somebody wake up every single day no matter what she faced in the media, and the blogs, to do a job so many individuals wanted to her quit. This is what fueled my drive to take full control of my life and embracing all of the odds that were against me and opening a spa during a pandemic.
