We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorra Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I decided to launch my business the few factors that fueled my decision-making were quite essential to me. Initially, I noticed a deficiency in the knowledge of many small business owners; specifically among women and minority groups. These entrepreneurs were adept at creating top-notch products and delivering services; however, they often struggled to sustain their ventures due to a lack of comprehension regarding their finances and the tax consequences of their choices. I was confident in my ability to make a difference by offering resources, consultation services, and practical assistance to address this issue effectively.

I desired independence in terms of both money and opportunities. I yearned for the freedom to steer my career path toward serving clients I truly cared about and establishing a legacy that reflected my core beliefs. I recognized that by equipping individuals, with the understanding to make wise decisions I could generate a positive impact that extended beyond their businesses to their local communities too.

I decided to launch this business because I truly love teaching and supporting others in achieving their goals. Being an accounting /tax professional and speaker fuels my passion, for simplifying ideas into practical strategies that anyone can understand. Establishing my firm has allowed me to spread this enthusiasm to an audience, on a more personal level. It has been a fulfilling experience so far. I take pride in the positive difference I can make.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my closest pal came to Dallas for a week visitation period I’d organize a schedule showcasing the delights and cultural experiences the city has to offer alongside some enjoyable attractions, with a touch of leisure time sprinkled in between activities here’s a glimpse, into how we’d spend our week;

Day one has. We extend a welcome to Dallas.
Let’s start our journey with a brunch, at The Toasted Yolk Café where we can enjoy their breakfast and brunch menu options.
A walk at Klyde Warren Park and then maybe stop by one of the food trucks for a cup of coffee and relax on the grassy lawn.
Dinner at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, in Dallas where we can savor some of the Cajun seafood they offer and treat ourselves to their renowned crawfish étouffée dish.
Day Two of our exploration.
Begin your day with breakfast and coffee, at Ascension Coffee— a spot known for its delicious food and inviting ambiance.
Visit the Dallas Farmers Market where we can enjoy strolling through the stalls filled with fruits and veggies while browsing handmade goods and indulging in a tasty snack or two.
Lunch at Trinity Groves. They have a selection of restaurants where we can try dishes, like sushi and BBQ all in one place!
Enjoying rooftop cocktails, at HG Sply Co would be the way to wrap up the day, in style on Lower Greenville while soaking in the Dallas skyline views.
Day Three. Exploring Art and Culture.
Check out the Dallas Museum of Art for the day. It’s one of the art museums, in the country and best of all – there’s no admission fee!
Having morning activities lined up before heading over to the Food Kitchen for lunch sounds like a delightful plan! True Food Kitchen is a spot known for its focus, on dining options and delectable seasonal menu offerings.
Explore the street art scene in Deep Ellum during the afternoon—a creative neighborhood brimming with murals and art galleries, alongside trendy shops.
Day Four of our adventure itinerary.
Exploring Cedar Ridge Preserve, on foot was a pastime; we often set out for a morning hike, through the serene trails and picturesque landscapes right on the outskirts of the urban area.
We would have lunch at The Boathouse, by White Rock Lake after our hike. Enjoy the views there.
Head to TopGolf, for a night of food and entertainment! We can grab dinner and drinks while having a yet competitive game of golf.
Day five revolves around a visit, to the spa, for some needed relaxation and pampering.
Wednesday afternoon break, in the middle of the week, we would pamper ourselves with a spa day, at The Ritz Carlton Spa where we enjoyed massages and some relaxation time.
Lunch at Ellens is always a treat, after a spa day. Their Southern cuisine is so comforting! Ellens is famous, for its all-day breakfast options and incredible chicken fried steak that never disappoints.
Evening at Sixty Vines restaurant in Uptown Dallas, we would end our day with wine tastings and a nice dinner, in a laid-back setting.
Day six, in Dallas, is, about the nightlife scene.
Explore the Bishop Arts District for a day of boutique shopping. Discover a variety of shops and galleries where you can find one-of-a-kind treasures and enjoy some time at cozy cafes.
We planned to enjoy a meal, at TeI An restaurant, in Dallas known for its notch cuisine and famous handcrafted soba noodles.
A plan, for the evening involves going to Uptown Dallas for some drinks and dancing at spots, like The Rustic and Happiest Hour where you can enjoy music and a vibrant atmosphere filled with energy and fun-loving people.
Day 7. Goodbye, Brunch.
Saying our goodbyes over a farewell brunch, at Yolk seems like the way to end our trip in Dallas – indulging in breakfast classics together one last time, before parting ways.
Let’s go for a walk, in the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden after brunch to enjoy the green surroundings and end our trip on a tranquil and peaceful vibe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In my journey, several people and groups deserve recognition for their support and guidance. First and foremost, my grandmother, who was my prayer warrior, whose unwavering love and belief in me was a constant source of strength. I know she’d be proud of where I am today.
My success has also been greatly supported by my business partner Cherri who has provided encouragement and assistance whenever necessary Her involvement has been extremely valuable, in helping me stay on track and stay motivated.

In my career field, I’ve been greatly impacted by the help, from my professional organizations and mentors. These networks have provided me with guidance, insights, and tools that have helped me to develop both professionally and personally.

The book “Start With Why ” written by Simon helped me think deeply about my purpose and the impact I want to make. It’s encouraged me to take a look, at why I do what I do, which has guided many of my business decisions
All these factors have played a role, in shaping my story. I am sincerely appreciative of each one of them.
