Meet London Brown | Private Chef & Caterer

We had the good fortune of connecting with London Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi London, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It all started with a cheesecake. My parents were celebrating their anniversary and I just wanted to do something sweet for them, so I planned to prepare them dinner & dessert. I made cheesecake for dessert because it was my mom’s favorite. I had so much fun preparing everything, and the reaction was priceless it really filled my heart with so much joy. That moment had just unlocked something I never knew I had in me. I used my social media a lot so I would post what I was doing or step by step processes, just posting never thinking anything of it. As time passed people started inquiring so it kind of just jumped off from there and as I grew my ideas and goals expanded to creating The London Experience.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I don’t come from a professional culinary background. I’ve never been to culinary school or even worked in a kitchen setting. Everything I know came from watching my mom, dad, grandmothers, and trial and error. When in doubt YouToube University. So that in itself is what sets me apart from others. The London Experience creates elevated dining experiences. Every single menu is chef curated based on a clients wants and needs, and every bite is made with love. I love making people smile & seeing the sparkle in their eyes, so making sure things are presented to be visually pleasing plays a big part in that as well.
Where I am today comes from having faith and being consistent. Even when it looks like the odds are against you, you have to have that faith and trust that God will see you through even when you can’t see it for yourself, you just have to keep going. A few of my favorite quotes / scriptures “Why quit today, when tomorrow might be the day you win?”- unknown & “For we walk by faith not by sight .” -2 Corinthians 5:7
I believe the saying is… “anything worthwhile doesn’t come easy.” Lots of late nights and early mornings. You really have to be disciplined and be willing to sacrifice to get where you want to be. I would say my biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to be fearless. You can’t just wait and hope for a chance or opportunity to just fall into your lap, you have to put yourself out there and go get it. Even when it feels uncomfortable, you just have to trust the process.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ronnies Catfish & Daiquiris To Go, the farmers market , and check out the food trucks at Clyde warren park. Take a short drive to the lake and hop on some jet skis and watch the sun set.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to my team! I am so very thankful to have such hardworking, motivated, and encouraging individuals on my side who alway give 110% no matter what. A special shout-out to my parents for always leading by example and pushing me to be the best I can be! And to my friends and family who have been their since day one promoting, supporting, and pouring knowledge into me … Thank you
