We had the good fortune of connecting with Lexi Monique and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lexi, how do you think about risk?
Risk is the only way you will get to the next level. Playing it safe will never teach you the lessons that you will need to overcome. In June 2018 I decide that I wanted to move to Dallas, Texas, not knowing anyone or what the city really had in store for me.I started to plan for my big move and come October 2018 I was officially a Texas resident. Taking this risk I knew that I had to not only survive but thrive. I made it a mission to change my mindset and go after what I wanted to accomplish in Dallas, which was growing My styling business (XMStyling), creating a home for my son and I, and build an environment where I had a healthy mindset. Without taking that huge risk in life for myself personally and for my business I wouldn’t have accomplish nearly as much as I have. Every part of my life started to thrive from my 9-5 becoming a top producer in my region, to my business securing an internship with an amazing stylist, and to meeting the most amazing people to help grow my business in ways I never imagine. All these amazing things have happened based on a split second risk I decide to take and bet on myself.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company is XMStyling, A style company that teaches women entrepreneurs how to show up as the CEO while commanding the online stage by tapping in to their signature style that will allow them to be SEEN, HEARD and PAID. With my company I am able to help clients find, build or restore the confidence they need to run or operate their business as their best self. I got to where I am today in my business by overcoming the fear and self doubt that comes with owning a business. I challenged myself to get out and do things that made me uncomfortable and sooner or later the uncomfortable feeling became comfortable. This process was no easy task to say the least. It is all about consistency and determination. If you can find your determination for something, consistency will follow. The best lesson I learned was you don’t have be perfect, #1, or the best, you just have to keep going, learn from the best and bet on yourself, I am currently working on a #SlayYourConfidence movement. Stay tuned for the upcoming launch because I am so excited and can say that this will be my proudest moment for my company. My ability to connect with all types of women in different walks of life is truly my superpower and being able to be a light and a resource for them sets me apart.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m still getting know Dallas and love that within it self because there is so much to do, eat, and see. Some activities that I would take my BFF to do would be seeing the amazing view from the reunion ball, we would take a trapeze class, grab a taco from velvet taco, walk it off at white rock lake, eat dinner at Pangea, and enjoy a cocktail at The Statler rooftop.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It is so hard to pick only a couple. I have the pleasure to have the most amazing women in my corner from family, co workers, friends and supporters who have guided me on the journey of business and life. I can’t express in words how grateful I am for every one of them that have came into my life. God always supplies me with an amazing mentor in every stage of my life and for that I am beyond blessed. I know the purpose of my life and that is to give back all the wisdom that I have gained and pass that to others who are in need.
