Meet Lex Elia | Podcast Co-Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lex Elia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lex, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
We find black, queer, femme people that strive to not only make a difference but also own who they are incredibly inspiring. They are so much like us. If these people can be so amazing, ambitious, and resilient in a world that does not automatically accept them then we can achieve the same things.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our brazen approach to anything sexuality, stigmas, and experiences as black queer people really sets us apart from most. Like most, we are consistently growing and learning as we go. We have hit bumps in the road for sure! From technical difficulties to marketing, we try our best to use the resources we have and really put out great content.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would start with pregaming at the house (homemade cocktails are the strongest.) After pregame then it is off to grab Thai food from Zenna’s. Our favorite way to end a Friday night is at Sue Ellen’s, the local lesbian bar! Being surrounded by black queer people is always going to be our jam.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We have been working with an amazing trans femme that goes by Alexis Jayde! They have been helping us get our brand together and really elevate everything we do in regards to our podcast!
