We had the good fortune of connecting with Leslie Juarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leslie, how do you think about risk?
I’m usually afraid to take risk because I hate feeling like I have failed at something. As of lately I have been pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone and accept the fact that there will be things I fail at in life before I can become successful. Over time I have learned that it’s better to try and fail rather than to have never tried at all.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Currently an esthetician student with the hopes of becoming a medical esthetician. I’m most proud of the fact I pushed myself to do something I truly love. With this career change I have decided I have combined two of the things I love doing which is skin care and being able to help others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite places to go to catch up with friends and have a few drinks is Bourbon & Banter. I also love going to Jinya Ramen Bar. My favorite coffee shop is La La Land Kind Cafe
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest support in everything that I have decided to do is my husband. He supported my decision of quitting a stable job to go to school to become an esthetician and focus on making a career out of something I truly love. When I feel like I have failed at something or that I won’t be successful, he helps remind me that with time and dedication all the hard work I put into everything I do will pay off and that I shouldn’t compare my success to other’s successes. That instead I should look at how far I have come and what goals I had achieved that I didn’t think I would.
