We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Roth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what role has risk played in your life or career?
To me, Risk can be an up and down emotional roller coaster. When you want to take a risk for a hopeful outcome you get over whelmed by thoughts of will this work out, but you will never know unless you do it. I took huge risks that were big changes for me. I moved away from my hometown, my mom and my dad at 18. Only a month after graduating high school I moved to Louisiana from Fort Myers, Florida to go to esthetics school. After Graduating from esthetics, I then moved to Dallas, Texas at 19 by myself. Those risks were the best decisions I could have made to be in the position I am today. It will be scary and new, but it is always worth it !
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of how far I have came in such a short time. I am able to say I have achieved so much from 18 to now being 21. How I got to where I am today started in high school for me. I took a Lash extension class at 02 Face and Body spa in Louisiana at 17, while visiting my grandmother. I was working at a coffee shop as my first job at 15 and they sold the store while I was visiting her. I didn’t know what to do or to find another job. Instead, I focused on my lash work then finding another job. I would travel to people to do their Lashes because I wanted to do anyone I could. It then escalated so quickly. I made a set up in my bedroom with a table and everything I needed. I was doing a lot of girls I was in high school with including their mothers. After that I knew this is what I wanted to do and had to get licensed. I applied to Esthetics school at Aveda Institute in Lafayette, Louisiana. A month after graduating high school, I moved to Louisiana. I went to school for 6 months and graduated at 19. I always wanted to live in Dallas, so I chose to move there. I applied to any job I could and I got one. I moved there by myself a month later not knowing anyone. I have now worked at a lash studio for 2 years. I am now in the process of transitioning into my own business, which is allure360, LLC. I would say of course it’s not easy. It’s a big thought process about everything. It is very scary. But everything I did seemed like it was suppose to happen. Everything fell in place even during Covid and there wasn’t any road blocks. I would like the world to know that I feel better in life making everyone else feel beautiful and confident in themselves. People come to me and leave feeling better about themselves and I would do and help everyone make them feel good. When it comes to advice, I love teaching or giving anyone advice wanting to be apart of the beauty community. My brand allure360, LLC is including everything I do and it wouldn’t of been possible without all the lovely ladies I’ve done services on and have supported me. I am so appreciated for all the people and opportunities I have been given.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What’s great about Dallas is there Is such much to do and always feels like you can’t always see it all. A couple places to go eat and drink that is such an experience would be Nusr-ET salt baes steakhouse, the Tulum Dallas, Drakes steak house, sky Blossom and XOXO dining room. They are all a vibe where you can eat and drink with amazing views and experiences. The parks in Dallas are beautiful just to walk and sit around. A fun thing to do on Sunday is walk and shop around the farmers market!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout out to who helped me get where I am today would be my mother, my grandmother, The spa owner who thought me Lash Extensions, and all my certification teachers. I shout out my mother for of course putting me in this world and giving me freedom. I shout out my grandmother because she is my biggest supporter and made it possible every step of the way. The spa owner of 02 Face and Body Spa, who taught me how to do lashes and it became the biggest part of my career. My last shout out is to every teacher I had in my journey giving me hands on training and all the teachers I had in beauty school. I thank everyone who has helped me in my career.
