We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Woodruff and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristina, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
One that stands at the top of my list is picking up and moving to San Diego when I was 19. I grew up in a small town and was craving culture and adventure. My brother was already working out there and asked me to come out and work with him. I asked less than 5 questions about the opportunity because I was stoked to go to the beach and expand my horizon. This journey to independence taught me all about public relations, public speaking, sales, and marketing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is serving others and helping people clear their energy blocks. I support and guide my clients and their process in each session by holding space and channeling healing energy. I help align their physical and energetic bodies so they can make clear decisions in their lives. Along with Yoga and Guided Meditation, I assist my clients in every area physically, mentally, and spiritually. Working in the energy and Reiki field for 15 years, Yoga for 12 years, and a regular meditation practice since I was 12 years old, has helped me create a unique skill-set and a clear connection with my intuition that guides my practice. I am most excited about being a part of the Creation Team for a non-profit called Love and Freedom and serving through and with this wonderful community. I got to where I am by taking a big leap of faith when I left my corporate job. Once I made the decision, everything aligned, friends and family were super supportive and clients just kept coming! Everything was ready and available I just had to fully trust my gut. I’ve learned that my biggest asset is my intuition and my support system. I want the world to know that energy is science that hasn’t been fully tapped in to or understood. Albert Einstein had it right with his studies in Quantum Physics.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start with Yoga at Sanders Fit Gym in the most beautiful historic building at South Side on Lamar and grab coffee at Opening Bell next door. After a mani pedi at Castle Nails and Spa in Mockingbird Station then it’s tacos at Urban Taco and a nice margarita on the rocks. We’d then walk around White Rock Lake and explore nature. For dinner it’s off to Wabi House on Lower Greenville for my favorite Ramen and an easy stroll to Steel City Pops for dessert. Lastly, karaoke at the best hole-in-the-wall spot for karaoke, One Nostalgia Tavern!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to start with recognizing my amazing mother, Kathleen Highley. Because of her own journey with energy healing, I am a proud second generation Reiki Master. I am immensely grateful that she taught me and shared her gifts with me so that I may do the same for my children and community. Additionally, Suzy Batiz’ course Alive OS was a major life changer for me. She, along with Abi Ferrin, Hannah Rabalais and a slew of other like-minded individuals came together to form the Alive OS launching pad. I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive and loving, space-holding group that I now deem soul family.
